5 years and that's 5 years to long.
Yeah, I just used the google and saw that, so after this year she'll have 2 years and $430k remaining, and USU would owe $322,500 to terminate for convenience, and I can't imagine the program being enough of a priority to warrant even that level of investment to buy out unless someone specifically came along and offered to pay the buyout.
They found the money to give JH 750,000,
Pretty sure they can find the money to buy her out
It would be an incredibly disappointing start to Bovee's possible AD tenure to allow this program to continue to unravel further after how pathetic the past few seasons have been. Pony up the buyout, make the right hire and prove that you're the man for the job.

I see they gave UNR a game, but how in the world do they keep losing to AFA??

Coaching. AF is extremely well coached. Believe their coach has the 2nd longest coaching tenure among active coaches. She’s been in the biz over 40 years. She was conference COY last year.

It was 54-37 when two of Nevada's best players got ejected early in the 4th.

UNR had a really good player out, not sure if she was sick or injured. Then third quarter there top two players were ejected.

I still haven’t gotten over that coach supposedly kicked Prima off the team mid-game (at least that’s one someone stated here and it certainly seems she was dismissed from the team in some capacity). And not to mention at an away game, on kids day (so in front of 5000 screaming children). I’m sorry, maybe I need to let this go, but I would really like to know the story. I hope Prima gets word of this offer Tyler is making and is willing to talk to the reporter he knows. I know some people get worked up about the “rumors” so let’s hear it straight from the source. I have worked both in higher education and as a coach (not at the collegiate level but still), so if a player truly was treated this way and kicked off the team, I get pretty furious.

Another loss tonight. Only scored 48 points….I get that it’s Wyoming and they’re pretty good; but the other two teams in the basement of the conference *nearly* pulled off upsets of the two top teams in the conference (Fresno @ Unlv, sjsu vs csu).

2 points in the first quarter.

USU had a post player suspended from the previous game, of course another forward, Chellis, is inexplicably gone. It’s just embarrassing. Anyone putting on the USU jersey deserves better than this coaching staff.

The rumor on here is Chellis was kicked off mid game against Colorado state last week. regardless she’s not listed on the roster online anymore. The other player could’ve just I don’t know, not started a fight? Wouldn’t haven’t been suspended if she had some emotional control I guess.

Those two points were free throws, not even a shot…downright embarrassing.

I turned it on when it was 18-2 at the end of the first quarter. That's all I watched.

Not sure I would put all the blame on Ashya for her suspension. The video cut away for the skirmish, and then once it cut back they were already both on the ground rolling around, but it appeared that they were both at fault. Inexplicably the camera zoomed all the way out once the cameraman realized it was a fight, so you couldn't really see what was going on. Another video I saw on twitter from the crowd didn't implicate Ashya any more than the other player involved either.

This thread has shown more interest for USU women’s hoops then anywhere else, including the AD.

I would pay good money to see Ridgeline vs USU in women’s hoops. I think Ridgeline might be favored.

My thought in the first quarter was- you could turn this into a drinking game where you drink every time they make a shot (not a free throw, a shot) and probably still wouldn’t be drunk.

But I just turned it off instead.

To be fair, showing more interest in women's hoops than the AD is a pretty low bar. They've let that program rot for decades without giving a single damn.

Lindy Larocque at UNLV was referenced earlier in the thread. Did we consider her for the position here? UNLV is in the Top 25 for the first time since 1994.

Yeah i brought her up mostly as a point of comparison to Kayla Ard since she started at the same time. And I’ve seen people excusing Kayla’s horrendous performance by using covid; but you can’t use that excuse when comparing her with Lindy La Rocque.
Don’t know whether she was considered but she is from Vegas so we wouldn’t have won the sweepstakes. Plus seems Hartwell was more interested in hiring his friend….

It does show, if you hire the right person, though…the return on investment is high and worth it. UNLV is starting to draw in sizable crowds. Because they’ve put a quality product on the floor- talented, well coached. Something we have yet to do. And that won’t happen under the current regime.

If that’s not a reflection of the train wreck that this coaching staff is, I don’t know what is. Other than maybe tracking the demographics of players who’ve left both during and after the season….

Which game was that out of curiosity?

Probably an avoidable problem IF:

1) the coach doesn’t treat the entire roster last year so poorly that 90% of them leave
2) the coach doesn’t kick a player off the team mid game for no discernible or stated reason
3) they don’t have a player get suspended for fighting in a game.

Ah gotcha so they still has the player who got kicked off and the suspended player in that one. That definitely one of their better games, but they just ran out of steam. But SO often they just get it handed to them. I mean, San Jose State rocked them….

they sure were helped by the Nevada players getting ejected. But yeah they had some improved defense in the end of the game.
