NAR - byu's getting a taste of their own medicine
Right after we play byu, they will get to play Notre Dame in Las Vegas.
This was supposed to be a home game for byu, but the Irish said "No, we want to play this game on a neutral field." Sound familiar? Just wait.
Notre Dame then labeled this game as their annual "Shamrock Series" Game, which gave them the ability to sell tickets to their fans first and take the majority allotment. So not only will 70% of the stadium be Notre Dame fans, but byu fans are also having to pay twice the amount for their tickets as Notre Dame fans are.
The game will also be broadcasted on NBC, which gives ND the larger payout from the tv revenue.
Byu tried to negotiate a better deal, but Notre Dame's AD came back and said, "I can pick up the phone and call 20 other teams who would gladly fill your spot." so byu caved.
Needless to say, the zoobs are pissed, and as both a Utah State and Notre Dame alum, it makes me so happy that byu is getting the same "little brother" treatment that they have treated us with over the years.
Us beating them on 9/30 is going to make it so much sweeter too!

This post is likely straight up poor sarcasm and cannot be taken seriously.
Re: NAR - byu's getting a taste of their own medicine
Not that I am a ND fan at all (I think they are vastly overrated most years), I like ND sticking it to yBu to help show where yBu really is in the pecking order.
As much as I want ND to make a decision about joining a conference so we can get through this whole realignment nonsense sooner, the PSU alum in me just hopes they wouldn't be the prima donna that yBu is if they join the B1G. If they go ACC or SEC, I want them to be the biggest prima donna possible.

Haha classic.
My sister and her family live in Elkhart. If you think Boise travels well with their RVs holy hell Notre Dame travels well with their private jets. They have crazy amounts of private jets flying in for their games.
BYU is a good traveling fan base… but there won’t be pictures of empty beer lines in this game. Notre Dame will fill those seats.

And, don't forget, when they were independent they were the "Notre Dame of the West."

Re: NAR - byu's getting a taste of their own medicine
haha. I love it! We might catch a few players looking past us. Hopefully, that helps.
What's more, with this battle of church schools, Nevada is a catholic state, not a Mormon state. There is less support here for BYU than BYU alums would think. According to the Pew Research Center, 25% of Nevadans are Catholic or about 757K; Mormons account for just 4% of the state. The Mormon population additionally shrank by 1.1% from 2020 to 2021 here in Nevada. https://www.pewresearch.org/religion/re ... ate/nevada And among the few Mormons I do know here in the neighborhood, there are four households with Aggie alumni, three University of Utah households, and two BYU households.
I'm predicting this will be a sellout game, and I hope to see about 70%+ of the seats filled with green and gold per @AggieUprising50's post.

They are not a “good traveling team” cause their so cheap. They have free advertising at all Mormon congregations and the local members are willing to pay for one game to see the vaunted cougars and their incredible missionary service they perform for the world.

I flew some Notre Dame fans to South Bend in a private jet many years ago. Very fun experience, and South Bend during a Notre Dame football weekend is something to behold.Imakeitrain wrote: ↑July 22nd, 2022, 10:35 amHaha classic.

Didn't Lavell Edwards once say something to the effect of that when BYU fans travel, they go with a $100 bill and a copy of the Word of Wisdom, and they don't break either? Someone affiliated with BYU said that a few decades back.WAAggie wrote: ↑July 22nd, 2022, 3:02 pmThey are not a “good traveling team” cause their so cheap. Anyone know if Zach Wilson's mom and her friends will be at the game? I'm asking for a friend.

Re: NAR - byu's getting a taste of their own medicine
Unfortunately I wasn't able to get in to the game. But just experiencing the atmosphere during that weekend was something to experience. I was there in mid November, it was the BC game in 2000. But in the five years that followed, I flew for an airline that flew in to South Bend several times a day. When landing to the west, you fly right past the campus. In the early and mid fall the campus is quite beautiful.slcagg wrote: ↑July 27th, 2022, 6:35 amI can imagine it would be pretty iconic. I’d love to go watch a game their late sept/early oct. My rooting interests have been tried and tested this past year. First, I had to pull for Ohio State 1st time ever when they played the youths in Rose Bowl. Now I have to pull for Notre Dame against BYU.
