Kobe was great but you'd think he'd get a little devine intervention to keep him higher than fifth.

Kahwi would be a good #5 pick.

Steph is great, but how is he better than Giannis or KD?

I think you'd need some divine intervention for him to be a current player.

Best Team USA player ever is Kevin Durant. Not a Durant fan at all and have actively cheered against him since he joined the Warriors in 2016, but I do have respect for him for putting his country first and winning the Gold Medal this year. You could make a strong case his presence was the most consequential for Team USA basketball since pro players could play. Yeah you could argue there were better players that have played on the Olympic team; Michael Jordan, Kobe, Lebron, etc. . ., but none of them made the difference as much as Durant did this year. Had Durant chosen not to win his 3rd Olympic Gold, Team USA probably doesn't even medal. Most star players quit at 2 Golds, so good for Durant for still playing despite his recent injury history.

Agreed, Team USA doesn't win without Kevin Durant.

To answer the original question, here are my current position rankings. This is NOT a top 5 or 10 list as at least half of the top 10 overall are SF/PF type players and I'm only picking 1 per position, with a backup.

PG: Steph Curry (Dame #2)
SG: Harden (Beal #2) (I hate Harden and he has contributed greatly to making the NBA worse, but the dude can play.)
SF: LeBron (Kawhi #2)
PF: Giannis (Durant #2)
C: Jokic (Embiid #2)

For the local interest, I think I'd put Donovan at 3 under SG and Gobert at 3 under C.
