Rice-Eccles Help Needed

Post by AngusAg » July 13th, 2021, 9:47 am

Will be attending the Garth Brooks concert at RES. Coming from SE Idaho and don't know SLC and especially RES well.
Can someone help me with my best options to get in and out and parking? Thank you.

Best option is to take Trax, the light rail system. Park at an outlying station in the valley and ride right to the stadium. Stations further out in the valley have free parking.

First off, I'm jealous. My wife and I went to the Garth Brooks concert a few years ago at Vivent Arena and it was really, really fun.

Rice-Eccles has a big parking lot, but it may have construction equipment in it for the south endzone work they're doing. I work like a mile from the stadium, but don't go by there very often so I'm not sure.

An idea I would actually consider is parking somewhere else and taking Trax up to the stadium. The Red line goes right to the stadium. One option would be City Creek parking (this is nearest the Blue Line, you'd need to take the Blue Line south and get off at the Grand America Hotel and switch to the Red line east). There is also an old Office Max on 4th S and 9th East that has a big-ish parking lot and is right next to a Red line Trax stop. They may patrol the lot for events, but I'm not sure. Might be worth checking out.

I'm with Geo. Parking around UofU sucks. Park by an eating establishment close to 4th South - and get some food. Or Trolley, 1 block south - Skewered Thai is good. Then get on Trax and go up the hill to the stadium.

I was hoping you were gonna ask for help to toilet paper the stadium... I’d be down for that...

Not rice Eccles but I once peed on the NMSU bell in their stadium. It was probably the only time it rang that season. You’re welcome Frank.

Also, yes to trax.

Thank you for your suggestions. Looks like I need to work out a Trax route.
