Crazy to think where he was just 14 years ago in the Sugar Bowl and it's all over.

Incredibly sad.

What kind of rehab facility was he at? I would be curious to know what the cause of death was (suicide? OD? Something else)?

He had a bad car accident back in 2010 that apparently messed him up and also got arrested for a DUI in 2012. TMZ says that he was in to work on "sobriety ."

NAR - Hawaii's Colt Brennan dead at the age of 37

Post by ViAggie » May 11th, 2021, 4:44 pm

Found unresponsive in a rehab treatment center. The guy was a beast at Hawaii, he lit us up for 52 points at Aloha Stadium in 2007 and killed us 62-10 in Logan in 2006, I think that has to be our worst home loss in our history (point wise).
Wishing his family all the best.

Sad. Sometimes when it seems others have it all, you just don't know the problems they are dealing with out of the spotlight.

Sorry I posted this in the FB forum before seeing this. Man this sucks, Brennan LIT US UP 119 points in two games! I don't think any other QB has done that to us since or before

There have been 2 home losses that were worse but we don't need to talk about them. They happened in 1937 and 1977.

Point wise perhaps, but in modern history that loss to Eastern Washington in 1994 and that Idaho State loss in 2000 are probably the worst.

Interesting side note. Colt was the cousin of the current SJSU HC Brent Brennan

Looks like OD. Poor guy. Apparently, they found something laced with fentanyl in his system.

Rest easy, champion.

Sad news. I lived in Hawaii long after Colt Brennan played there, but his presence was still very much part of the fanbase. I remember working a job where there was a Colt Brennan Sugar Bowl poster in the office. If you wanted to start up a conversation with someone at a sports bar, just bring up the Colt Brennan years. He was the greatest QB in Hawaii football history. RIP
