Luka appeared like his shoulder really bothered him in the fourth. Thought it really gave the clippers an advantage.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑May 28th, 2021, 10:55 pmClippers get the win. I know some Jazz fans want to avoid the Clippers, but man I don't want to play Luka. Another incredible game from him tonight. I would say he is going to be the best player in the league in a few years, but he already has a case for it now. First player in NBA history with 275 points, 75 rebounds and 75 assists in their first 9 playoff games.

Re: Holy Utah Jazz
Yeah we will see if that is a problem going forward. Porzingis was pretty bad in game 3. It definitely is a series that could go either way.slcagg wrote: ↑May 29th, 2021, 7:23 amLuka appeared like his shoulder really bothered him in the fourth. Hubie Brown is 87 years old. Probably time for him to go enjoy his life and go on cruises around the world and spend some time in the Maldives. Let the next generation announce the games.

I don't mind Hubie. It's insane to me that ESPN doesn't have these announcers at the arena though. We're in the playoffs. It's painfully noticeable and the product suffers because of it.Mr. Sneelock wrote: ↑May 29th, 2021, 8:39 pmHubie Brown might be the worst commentator in the business.

Memphis is going to be a problem in the future. If Ja gets just a little better at shooting and makes smarter decisions he could be a top 10 player, and I think Taylor Jenkins is a brilliant coach. They could be very, very good sooner than people think.

He was pretty openly favoring Memphis and it was annoying. That doesn't usually bother me too much, but it isn't just that. He is just hard to listen to. Something about his cadence or something just grates on me.slcagg wrote: ↑May 29th, 2021, 8:45 pmI’m sure I’m biased but man I thought he was hard to listen to as a jazz fan. Hubie was the Memphis Coach for a few years and won Coach of the Year there. He probably has a soft spot for the Memphis Grizzlies. He was the first coach to ever take them to the playoffs.

Dillon brooks. First the head butt in game 1. I didn’t see this tonight. Did anyone else?

Yes, I saw it. Can't stand that guy
Also, who mixes it up with Conley? He might be the nicest, most likeable guy in the NBA. He has literally never gotten a technical foul. It was awesome when Brooks was jawing at him and he drained a 3 in his face and then jawed at his the whole way back down the court.

Re: Holy Utah Jazz
I think you’re right about their potential. I think they’re probably one guy away from top 4 in the west though even if they progress naturally.
They need someone that can take pressure off Ja with the ball and get his own shot. If they get that they could leapfrog Portland, Golden State, and maybe get in the Denver LAC Dallas range

This Grizzlies team is much improved even since earlier this season. I really like Ja he's super fun to watch.
Glad the Jazz won and got home court back, but hopefully it doesn't come down to that.

Whichever team comes out of the Suns/Laker series is going to be seriously compromised.
I think the Clippers are the only threat left in the West.

Let’s not count our chickens yet....I think there are some very capable teams including the Mavericks with Luka healthy. The Suns we’re impressive last night too and something about Denver still is unsettling.
Go Grizzlies, Jazz, Real SL, Seahawks, USA! Go Aggies!

Re: Holy Utah Jazz
I think the Jazz can beat Dallas with a less than 100% Doncic, and if Chris Paul isn't right, the Suns are not the same. Denver is good, but I still think the injury to Jamal Murray is critical - though Porter has picked up most of that slack and Gordon is a good addition.
The Clippers scare me the most. The Lakers are cooked.

Re: Holy Utah Jazz
What I care about in order:
1. The Jazz winning the title
...Good sized gap....
2. The Lakers not winning the title
If 1 and 2 are no longer options, I really don't care what happens.

Re: Holy Utah Jazz
Since the playoff seeding was set, the potential 2nd round matchup is what's scared me the most. If they get past the Clippers, they'll be in the finals.Mr. Sneelock wrote: ↑June 2nd, 2021, 10:25 amI think the Jazz can beat Dallas with a less than 100% Doncic, and if Chris Paul isn't right, the Suns are not the same. Re: Holy Utah Jazz
I’m that way too. I was thinking earlier if it’s not the Jazz then from the West maybe I’d want the Clippers just to annoy Laker fans. Granted it’s giving the city of LA another title...which is annoying...but with the hope that it comes at the expense annoying that insufferable fan base.3rdGenAggie wrote:What I care about in order:

If not the Jazz then maybe the Bucks...I’d be ok with that one for several reasons.

Re: Holy Utah Jazz
It is on ATT SPORTSNET or NBA TV. If those aren't options there are illegal streams. It is ridiculous that it is so hard to watch a playoff game in 2021.
Insane first quarter.

Looks like the Jazz will get the Mitchell Sweep. Mitchell hotter than Gal Gadot right now 7-9 with 17 points and the Jazz on pace for a 75 point half.

I'm nervous about Conley's hammy. They need him in the next series. Hopefully they are just being cautious.

Blowing out Memphis early coupled with the Clippers/Mavs series being tied is the perfect recipe for Conley to score a little extra rest.
