Auto Repair in Logan

Post by AGinNEIowa » January 6th, 2021, 1:51 pm

I have a son in Logan with a 2008 Lincoln that needs some work done.
Anyone have a suggestion on shops which are reasonable and fair?

When a couple of my college kids had car troubles while out in Logan I sent them to Cache Valley Autocare and I was impressed. I never went there myself but talked to the mechanics after the kids dropped their car off. At least the one guy I take to him as honest about what they found was wrong and didn’t try to convince me to fix more than was needed. I plan to send them back there again in the future.

Cache Valley Auto works for me as well. Another one that I would go to is Grant's Hometown Repair which is located in Nibley.

My dad and brother both have used Ted's in the past and neither have been very impressed. He is cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Also, for things related to the cooling system and radiator, I would go to Intermountain Cooling.

16 years ago I would have gone to Carl’s accurate automotive out on 2nd north and about 7th west.

Aaron's Elite Auto out on 10th West is really good. Aaron's not the cheapest, but he's fair and honest about costs.

I also like the Master Mechanic in Providence.

I'd be skeptical about a business that has to put "honest" in the business name. It's like people that have to give themselves nicknames - some things are better left for a other people to determine.

A1Automotive. I few times I thought I needed a repair, they checked the car, and told me I didn’t. They’ve had opportunities to charge me for work I didn’t need, and they remained honest. Good people!

I don't know how official those rankings are, really.

In most cases I would agree with being skeptical with that being in the name. With Ethans Honest automotive, Honest definitely fits.. I have had him work on my car and replace the starter on my wife’s car (don’t ever allow your wife to jump someone car for them). Pricing was great, short lead time, very open and up front about everything that is needed to be done..

On a side note I really enjoy Adams Mobile Lube for my oil changes. He comes to my house to perform the oil change while I’m inside watching some sort of sports and I trust the work he does:

If the car can make it out to Wellsville, I've always been happy with the service at Tom's Auto Service.

seconding the votes for both A1 and Tom's. I've had good luck and felt like I was treated honestly and fairly at both garages...

I really liked A1 while I was a student, it always seemed like they charged less because they knew I was a student.

I only had a breakdown once during college. They also took a look and told me the AC was shot and would be expensive, but that because I had split belts I could just cut the compressor belt and live without AC.

Work expands to fill the time allotted.
