Donovan Mitchell 195 million over 5 year extension
Great news that the Jazz have officially locked down Mitchell for 5 years. Excited to see what Ryan Smith does to build a winner around him and Gobert.

How many professional athletes have made $200M before turning 30 excluding endorsements? If he is smart and reasonably aggressive with investing this money, he could be a billionaire by age 50.

Donnie seems to be one of the smartest, most grounded stars out there. I'd bet on him being a billionaire by 50.

Good move. Had to be done no matter the cost. This guy is special, and has the "IT" factor and superstar potential. like no other Jazz player of this era. He'll be a top 5-10 player in the league for the rest of his career.

Yeah he certainly doesn't seem to be the type that will go blow his money. His next contract will probably be even bigger assuming he stays healthy. Yeah I'd bet on him making a million. I see him getting more endorsements in the future too. The guy is only 23.

Donovan Mitchell 195 million over 5 year extension
I’m really happy he’s getting paid and staying. He’s my favorite Jazz player since Stockton. It is crazy though, as much as he’s making, that at this rate it would take him over 4600 years to even get close to what Bezos is valued (assuming he wasn’t taxed and never spent a penny of it).

And if he was the worlds worst investor. 4600 years is a long time for the time value of money to fail you that badly. Another fun fact, if you put $20 into a average CD that pays 0.5%, in 4600 years you would be richer than Bezos is today.AgMan21 wrote: ↑November 23rd, 2020, 12:33 pmI’m really happy he’s getting paid and staying. Re: Donovan Mitchell 195 million over 5 year extension
Maybe this is bad of me, but I kinda hope he doesn't make All NBA this year.
As expected, and as they should have, the Jazz offered Donovan the max they could and he signed. He's guaranteed 5 years $163 million, but if he makes All NBA (or MVP or DPOY) this year he qualifies for the Super Max which is the full $195 million number.
I wouldn't hate for the Jazz to have an extra $6 million in cap space every year of his contract.
Either way it's an absurd amount of money.
