My pick is Sammy Baugh. At one point, he was basically the best QB, DB, and punter in the NFL. 4 passing TDs and caught 4 INTs in one game, and as a punter Baugh among the top all-time punters in the NFL.

I am a huge Bears fan and as much as I would like to agree with Payton or even Sayers, I would have to say Jim Brown or Jim Thorpe.

Hard to go wrong with any of them for sure. I'm my mind I think Brown may have been the better RB, but Payton was a more complete receiver, excellent blocker, could throw the ball and was even known to be a pretty competent punter/kicker.
As for Thorpe, one of, if not the greatest athletes of all time, his resume is amazing, hard to equal his accomplishments in multiple sports over so many years. Part of it admittedly the time bias from him having played so long ago and a homer bias as a Bears fan, but complete football player, I still go with Payton. Greater overall athlete, Thorpe for sure.

Nagurski. Two way monster
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Hey, as long as we're taking about Bears players, I'm good.

Justin Tucker. Gets 5 million a year to kick field goals while avoiding hits. That guy has life figured out.

Oh, yeah. Bednarik.
He broke Frank Gifford thus:

Nice. Thanks for the highlight. Bednarick is my all time defensive player I have watched.

Nagurski over right guard for six: then Nagurski knocks the center into the quarterback as he's handing off to the fullback, taking all three down in a cloud of Slavic rage as his linebacker buddy picks up the fumble and rambles in for another six..
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
