Which sport starts first?
What is your bet on which major professional sports organization starts competition with live spectators first?
NFL
NBA
MLB
NHL
PGA
MLS
Tennis
Nascar
Rodeo
Horseracing
Snow skiing
International Gymnastics
Track and Field
X-Games
Other?
I guess I should add boxing, MMA, and cricket

Hunger.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Re: Which sport starts first?
True. I mean every sport has spectators crowded together so they all have the same risk. As far as pit crew, they aren't like players on the bench or anything sitting right next to each other. They can do their job without touching anyone. So, overall, Nascar could happen as the competitors aren't in danger of contact. They would just need the spectators to be cautious and maybe bring masks or something.sstrasser wrote: ↑April 14th, 2020, 9:43 ambut the question was with spectators and what about the pit crews?ThunderAggie wrote: ↑April 14th, 2020, 8:59 amNascar? Golf likely - my guess is the NBA Season Circa 2021 with no pre-season games. NFL delay until early 2021 is also something I think we might see. Bottom line is that experts are warning, no mass gatherings until we have a vaccine.

Re: Which sport starts first?
I think if these leagues get pushed to the 2021 calendar year, they won't start until after flu season, 2021. This would be around June/July 2021. All NCAA sanctioned events for the 2020-21 school year would be canceled. The various professional leagues would have to coordinate with each other on how they start back up. It would not be in their best collective interest to start up all at once because viewership and attendance would have competition from all fronts and would be watered down. I think in-stadium attendance will suffer for years to come on the tail of this thing.

Golf for sure. I read a plan last week the MLB is considering to have the league play a full season in their respective spring training leagues, in Florida and Arizona, but no fans.

Mike Trout basically put that idea down yesterday. He said that players aren't going to lock themselves in a hotel room apart from their families. He said he wasn't going to miss the birth of his first child. The idea sounds good on paper but you'd have to get the players on board.

City of LA said today that they do not anticipate allowing ANY sporting events to be scheduled until next calendar year.

Re: Which sport starts first?
I'm not a Golf fan in the slightest, but it certainly makes the most sense to be the first. It is also a sport that fans are unnecessary. How lame is it that a major sport tells fans to be quiet before big moments? It would be more exciting if fans could go wild why a golfer they were cheering against was putting like basketball fans when their opponent is shooting a free throw.
