Key Points:

Split deal with CBS and Fox (CBS Sports Network and FS1)

Term: 6 year deal (option)

Payout: $270M over 6 years =$4.09M per school annually (Hawaii has their own deal)

Fox and CBS will carry a few annual football and basketball games in the OTA networks

Boise State home games are now with Fox (no longer ESPN); CBS gets all conference rights to Boise's away football games (for the MWC)

CBS Sports will be the primary broadcaster (23 football games will be on FS1)

No games can start later than 8:00 p.m. Mountain Time

This does not include the sale of Tier 3 rights (games not part of the CBS Sports and FOX deal

May be a few games (basketball?) that will be shown on CBS All Access

Boise will get $1.8M annual additional revenue, more than other MWC schools

MWC Conference Champship will be broadcast on FOX

That's a nice deal. I think the 6 year thing is good, unless the economy goes south in 5 years. If the economy is good though, we could likely renegotiate for substantially more per year.

Those Sunday basketball games will be interesting as far as out attendance goes. Overall, very good news IMO

So I’m guessing Hartwell/whoever else is in charge will ask the MW that we be allowed to play home games on weekdays/Saturdays and play away games whenever (including Sundays), yeah? If the Jazz can get this sort of treatment in a professional setting, we should likely be able to get it on the MW level.

This deal should help us keep and retain quality coaches, which should improve all athletics.

Let’s hope. I don’t think we would get more that 3k on sunday games and it would kill season tickets if there were more than one or two sunday home games.

Can you imagine what an 8PM Sunday tip-off would look like for a school that has more than 50% of its fanbase more than an hour away? That doesn't even take into consideration the predominant culture of Sunday worship. I think the MW will likely throw us a bone on this one, and we will likely be lobbying hard for it.

Do you think that more than 50% of those that attend aggie basketball travel one hour to attend basketball games ? I doubt USU will play more than one or 2 games a year in Logan on Sunday

I make all football and about half the basketball. It takes me just under two hours to get there. If kick or tip off is right after rush hour it's longer. Based on the traffic coming up the canyon, it's quite a good number.

If you are the AD, how do you spend the extra money?

Making sure current projects are paid off, putting funds towards new projects are that are needed to help recruiting and the athletes, and then coaches salaries to retain good coaches.

Well we only have 9 paid coach's for football we are allowed 10. Smith wants to charter more flights for basketball. Money most also go towards women's sports There are a lot of mouth's to feed.

The good thing is we will now have a overall budget of more than $40 million, that is a nice increase, and most has happened after MWC membership, best of all this increase is not student money or University funds.

Now we all need to add more to our own donations.

The jazz generally don’t have regular season home games on Sunday.

The jazz don't have regular season home games on Sunday. The playoffs are a different beast and that's when Sunday games have happened.
