You are going out on quite of a limb there.

I know, hot take. Next Monday is possible, but only if there are some major losses above us.

Teams 11, 14, 16, 18, 22, 23 have already lost this week. We aren't getting by #11 (Purdue) but #22 (Missouri) and #23 (West Virginia) should slide below us. A few teams that were close behind us have lost as well, lessening the chance we'll get jumped.

Bold of you to assume that an SEC team and a B12 team losing would knock them down appreciably in the rankings.

24 Memphis won by 8, but line was -11

17 Illinois killed by Maryland by 21 when they were favored by 7 ?? Curious about net with the losses.

I don’t know if there has been a change to the NET formula or how this compares to past seasons, but the top 4 conferences (SEC, Big Ten, Big 12 and ACC) are currently projected to get 35 teams into the NCAAT according to Lunardi. Assuming the auto bids also come from those conference pools, that represents 84% (31/37) of the available at-large bids.

It's too bad the MWC isn't stronger this year. With the ACC having a down year it would have been a great opportunity to capitalize on that.

Without the MWC taking 5 of those at large spots, no one else other than maybe the WCC this year is really going to take those spots from the power teams. The new PAC-12 will change that up a bit. That should consistently get 4-5 bids each season. That regular season is going to be awesome. Can’t wait to see Gonzaga in the Spectrum.
