Lobos
Lobos
Been watching the SDSU/UNM game. Lobos looking really good, I think they will be a tough match up. I was also creeping on the Aztec forum, most fans view UNM as their biggest rival. We’ve got to convince them otherwise! Go Aggies!!

Re: Lobos
I suspect part of this is that SDSU is really young and hasn't played in front of intimidating crowds and might just be a little too big of a moment right now. UNM is experienced and looks really good should be a fun matchup in the next few weeks

Re: Lobos
We are going to have a hell of a time with Nelly Junior Joseph in the post and on the boards.
Dent as a handful is a given. Hopefully the zone helps negate his speed and ability to get to hoop
Aztecs cannot put the ball in the hoop they are 5-13 on FT
No made baskets in over 8:30. Missing layups, all kinds of shots

Re: Lobos
As much as I hate the lobos, I do think they would be a good addition to the PAC for basketball. I think USU, UNM, and SDSU are the 3 best basketball programs with the best fan bases and support.

Re: Lobos
Lobos have played some tough teams so far, but most of them have been at home. They still have to play at boise, in Logan, at SDSU, and at Nevada. I think they have three of those games in a row in February.

Re: Lobos
We've been a good rival for SDSU the past few years but their history with New Mexico goes back way further. I wouldn't consider USU a bigger rival than New Mexico if I was them either.ususean wrote:Been watching the SDSU/UNM game. Lobos looking really good, I think they will be a tough match up. Re: Lobos
Looking at stats UNM shot about 35.8% from the field, 21.4% from 3 and 40% from the line. Doesn't sound 'really good' to me. They did get 18 offensive rebounds to SDSUs 3 so that is what won the game for them. Give me their shooting stats against us and we win big.

Re: Lobos
I actually love UNM fans at the MW tournament every year. They show up in droves, know their team, and love college basketball. Overall, they’re an amazing lot.
Not looking forward to Nelly Junior Joseph receiving the ball inside of our zone at the free throw line and taking Templin and Gateretse to the hole. Also not looking forward to the ensuing crash in and kick out to Dent for some clean 3’s. They’re going to be a beast to deal with.
They’re the one MW team that I truly wish would come to the Pac with us.
