opponents' results thread

Post by QuackAttackAggie » January 7th, 2025, 7:25 am

Can we have a thread to discuss the movements and results of our opponents?

USF won big at Wichita State yesterday and jumped 45 spots in NET. They're now q3 again.

Sounds like a great idea. Also sounds like something that will be interrupted many times with an argument about RUTS and scheduling.

I suggest we set the title in lower case so that it stands out.

Fresno St getting outscored 31-10 by CSU with 7 minutes left in first half. Real head scratcher of a game we had.

Now 42-16, Fresno just plays the Aggies tough. Just happy the Aggies pulled it off. Probably doesn't help Fresno being on the second game on a road trip especially at elevation.

Iowa comes back from 2nd half deficit and buzzer beater to take game to OT to beat Nebraska by 10

Payton Sandfort is very streaky and he got going. Him and Dix had 30 and 31.

Worster might be the biggest example I've seen of a guy who never really improved during college. His freshman year stats at USU vs his career averages:

USU: 9.1 ppg, 3.5 apg, 3.8 reb, 28.4 3P%, 48.1 FG%
Career: 8.7 ppg, 3.9 apg, 4.2 reb, 28.6 3P%, 47.5 FG%

Just found it pretty interesting and thought I'd share.

One interesting thing is that as neutral site games, both Iowa (54 NET) and St Bonaventure (52 NET) are a hair away from becoming Q1 games (50 is needed for neutral site games).

Iowa jumped back up to 50 in the net so they are back to currently being a Q1 (we are at 4 right now) they would have to play very well to stick there but they have a lot of opportunities for bing wins. They’ll probably be back to Q2 before long

opponents' results thread

Post by AGGIEinIOWA » January 9th, 2025, 8:50 am

Having Quad 1 wins and avoiding Quad 3/4 losses are important for selection and seeding per the NCAA website.

We have 2 or maybe 3 Q1 games remaining (@ NM, @ Boise, and possibly SDSU). Considering we already have 4 wins, we are in good shape there.

We have around 4 Q4 and 3 Q3 games remaining. We have avoided Q3/4 losses up to now and need to avoid them like the plague moving forward. We could probably absorb one or maybe two but our seeding would definitely take a hit.

Yep bad loss for them. They will drop quite a bit in the net. As long as they can end the season top 100 and be a quad to win it's still a positive thing.

Iowa makes huge jump in Ken Pom to 39. Aggies defensive metrics slipping we are 42 but some space between us and next set of teams. We are at 16.47 Missouri at 41 is at 17.14

I’ll take the W though. Another Q2 win and keeping pace in conference and creating space between SDSU and Boise
