Great & Sprinkle are big…
…winners last night with a nice 76-69 win over first big 10 opponent Maryland, who just barely missed the top 25 this week. Analysts had seemed big on the terrapins. I had no lt watched them play, personally. Great had a dominate performance, as well (19 pts 14 rev)
I personally am happy for great. I want to see him do well. sprinkle, I go back and forth between wanting the guy to eat a bag of (I can't express myself without swearing) and being indifferent. Grateful for what he did for the program, but have a hard time getting over how he used us for what he needed and tossed us to the side with complete disregard.

Re: Great & Sprinkle are big…
Maryland, IMO should not have been ranked. There strength of schedule so far has been really bad. They did have 1 really good win over Ohio State and a decent win over Villanova. They have have won a total of 2 Q1/Q2 games, won 0 true road games and only 2 neutral site games. It was a good win for Washington given they had just had a really bad Q4 loss at home to Seattle.

Re: Great & Sprinkle are big…
I love Great; I'm glad to see things are on the up and up for him. While I would have loved him here, I want him to do really well and have a chance at the next level. I was worried that the dumpster fire he jumped into with Sprinkle might shut down all those chances. Hopefully he continues to have awesome performances.
I'm glad that Sprinkle was our coach. I'm glad that he had a nice buyout, which also helps the program. I'm glad that we now have Coach Calhoun. I have no ill will about the situation—maybe a one-and-done with Sprinkle was best for our program, too. I have no complaints about Calhoun: no lazy playing calling (like just tossing it into Great and letting him get mobbed), there seems to be an emphasis on great under the hoop inbound plays (unless Mason is just a beast), and his use of timeouts is good. I like our "gimmicky" defensive scheme, and this team is always fun to watch. I think we upgraded, and that upgrade was only an option because Sprinkle had an AWESOME year with us. Coach Sprinkle winning or losing at UW doesn't matter to me.

Re: Great & Sprinkle are big…
My problem with Sprinkle is he knew he was leaving and it seemed like he checked out before he was gone. Going into the purdue game and everything surrounding it felt weird. Very happy to have Calhoun now.

I'm very happy with Calhoun as well, but I'm also very open to the idea that history could repeat itself pretty easily.

Re: Great & Sprinkle are big…
Odom checked out before March Madness. Missouri was beatable. Coach and players didn't show up ready to play. Sprinkle at least showed up and had team ready for TCU.
And there were two teams we were not beating at all last year ever, even if we played them each 100 times. Purdue and UCONN. They were so much better than everyone else and it showed. It's possible Sprinkle could've done things differently that game so we only lose by 20 instead of 40, but we weren't winning that game.

Probably not. But when you throw in end-of bench players in the middle of the first half and give them the green light to jack 'em up, you're basically giving the middle finger to Utah State.Aggie702 wrote: ↑January 3rd, 2025, 10:41 amOdom checked out before March Madness. Missouri was beatable, yes, but it was a horrendous matchup for that team. Remember when Craig Smith couldn't break a press against Washington? Another matchup nightmare.

Aggies got the deal of the century. Sprinkle’s buy out + Osobor’s NIL + Coach Calhoun hiring all to end up in a better situation as a program than we would’ve been if Sprinkle stayed.trevordude wrote: ↑January 9th, 2025, 7:05 pmPlaying away at a great Michigan State team, but down 42-13 at half.

Great was the leading scorer at half for Washington despite not making a fg. He finished 0/8 from the field with 4 rebounds

Brown was great and could deliver some passes that nobody but Great could get. Great was awesome; he drew fouls like a madman, had awesome moves in the paint, and just found a way to make things happen.
Great deserved the POY award that he got, and I bet he'd be the first person to tell you that he couldn't have won that award alone.

I will never forget watching Great go head to head with LeDee at the spectrum. It was like a bull fight in the paint. Or two Bears fighting. Reminder: B10s new format is that only the top 15 of 18 teams even make the conference tournament. Great/Sprinkle might not even play in the conference tourney. At least they have fat bank accounts.

Re: Great & Sprinkle are big…
Y’all gotta settle down here and be a bit more appreciative. Dani Sprinkles is easily my favorite stripper down at the Husky Hut. None of that skinny crack-girl garbage. There are times I really like some bounce. And the way she can bounce helps bring in even bigger talent. Honestly, there’s not much Dani won’t try if you only tuck her 20 or so bills. But I had her doing more for far less back when she was dancing down at the Boogie Barn on Main.

This hits a little different when you remember Mama Sprink’s name is Danette.WAaggieFan wrote: ↑January 11th, 2025, 11:16 pmY’all gotta settle down here and be a bit more appreciative.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
