I think a lot of players are loyal to coaches and understand that a good system that they understand for a year or two can springboard them into more money down the road. But we've not had a consistent coach in some time, so maybe that's inaccurate.

Consider the UofU football team. After their great season last year, they had one of their better players, a TE I think, turn down a $1M NIL deal at Alabama to stick with UofU. I honestly think we may have seen some of that from Martinez this past offseason, but I don't know what kind of offers he was getting, or what USU is giving him, for that matter.
Mason and Ian turned down significantly larger offers from other schools.

That is awesome to hear. I have to imagine ybu offered mason a pretty hefty amount. I love to hear that they both turned down big offers to continue winning as Aggies

One of the few bright spots of this game! Road Warrior Tucker made his presence felt. Kept us in it.

What on earth was coach thinking when he subbed him out? He single handedly brought us back. What happened to riding your hot hand.

Tuck was good wish he could have knocked down a couple more FT’s but he did play great.

Honestly, biggest head scratcher of the night.

He didn't look lethargic like most the rest the guys. Calhoun 's assistants needed to fix that mistake

I assumed that coach Calhoun was just giving him a breather so he would be fresh down the stretch. And sure enough, he did put him in to close the game.

As a side note, the fans around me were terrified of Tucker. Whenever he would check into the game - after his first couple of threes - they would be shouting “stick on number two!”

Tucker was great last night! I think we are gradually unlocking the player he can be.

It's still too bad that he came out because when he came back in he couldn't find his shot again. If he could have got one to go in I think we win in regulation. But even if he was wrong this time, and I'm not saying he was, Calhoun has pushed enough right buttons sixteen out of eighteen times so I'm happy with that.

He was great. But he has this thing about playing great in away games and disapearing at the spectrum.

Road Tucker is my favorite player lately. There are moments where I find myself thinking he has the most potential out of anyone on our roster.

His splits home/away this season are pretty crazy.

Does somebody know his home/away splits? I’m too lazy to compile them right now

Agreed, he has a unique skill set with his height and athleticism. Hope he can start playing well at home as well.

Thanks, didn’t realize ESPN has that. The 3-point % really jumps out. I knew he had been shooting a lot better away from home, but WOW

It’s also that we have only had true road games since conference play and since the St Mary’s game, he has shot almost 37%. He did have some bad games in that stretch as well but has been much improved overall but yes there is still a strong correlation that he shoots better in bc away games. Really an interesting stat. It’s kind of like that guy from CSU a few years back that shot really well if covered but horrible if wide open.

I honestly wonder if this guy will ever see valuable minutes or reach his potential here. He just can’t seem to get any consistent minutes. I wonder if all the NBA scouts are still watching him?

He needed more minutes this game. This might have been Dexters worse game. We could have used his size.

Agree we could have used more minutes from Tucker in this one. Though I have to say he will benefit immensely from an offseason focusing on core strength building. He really struggles to hold his ground at this level.

Yeah, rough night for Dexter. He has played great this year but was not his night.

Yeah his TO late hurt and he should have had an and-one on an easy layup down the stretch he missed and then only made one FT. He is not a slasher he’s a shooter. He also got big boy’d on a couple of rebounds that he had position on and they muscled it away from him.

I agree with the sentiment that Tucker should have got more minutes but he also didn’t do much but he hit one 3.

The team needs to do a better job of getting the 4 spot involved in the offense.
