Overall the Aggies came out of this transfer period in really good shape. With Sprinkle leaving there was a lot of uncertainty but to probably only lose 1 of your top 6 contributors from last year to the transfer portal is pretty darn good.

so entry into the portal doesn't close today at all - it's just a deadline to notify anyone in the AD that one intends to enter - after that one could be entering the portal later this week or early next week depending on paperwork submission.

Schools are required to enter your name into the portal within 48 hours of notification from the player.

I see this like any other market. Sometimes it is a buyer's market and sometimes it is a seller's market. Any time a new market opens up, it is a bit crazy. Right now, the seller's have a great opportunity to cash in. It won't always be that way.

Everyone keeps saying this, but by the time it corrects itself, will there still be a strong interest in it? I used to live for the NFL but then a few years ago, I stopped watching and found other things of interest and now I don't even watch the super bowl most years. I love college basketball, but my interest is quickly decreasing with everything that is going on with the transfer rules and once it is gone, I don't know if it will ever come back.

You are talking to someone that is pretty much already there. I have very little interest in college athletics right now. Buying teams isn't my idea of what makes college athletics compelling. We all still remember App St. going into the Big House and taking down Mighty Michigan. That happened in 2007. We all remember UMBC taking down overall #1 Virginia (not so notable considering we heard it every Aggie game for two years). The Cinderella story is what draws people to college sports.

You make a good point, when the rain of money falls to the performance floor and the patrons stagger out of the club with empty pockets, what will be left of college sports? Will USU exist? If it exists, will it have any chance to compete? Maybe it will die off, maybe it won't. I'm not certain I will have any interest by the time Candy puts on her clothes and heads home.
