Anyone know if Mason needed any surgery on his shoulder?

It seems rare a shoulder thing just goes away on its own

Depends how small we want to play. Unfortunately Mason plays the same position as our best player but I imagine he starts.

I wonder if Calhoun has a hot hand approach, so if Mason is cooking, he keeps him in for 35 mins, maybe Allen doesn't see the floor for a game, but next game is different.

Having your top players play less together can make it hard to cement an identity and on court chemistry.

I agree we were gassed sometimes last year, but those guys played hard and together for almost every game. Didn't always get that with Odom's team

This is correct IMO except Udeje would be your primary backup SF and the first one (along with Mason) off the bench. Also, I can't imagine Templin getting talked into redshirting but it'd be nice if he did.
First, we need to accept that Great is not coming back. Despite Great, we are very deep. I could see us playing 10 guys 15-25 minutes each. If we add Carter Welling, he would be the 10th.

I wouldn't expect Templin to redshirt. From what I have heard, he has no desire to redshirt and is expecting to take a big jump this next year. If Welling is announced and he is concerned about time on the court, we could see Templin in the portal in the next few days before it closes.
Why do we repeat this same garbage every year?

No, we'll end up having a rotation of 7 guys. Another guy or two will be common but won't get big minutes.
Someone mentioned earlier Calhoun did a 10 man at Youngstown.

Also got say, it looks like we’re gonna have a lot more depth than I’ve seen my 3 years going to games at the spectrum. If there’s a year we do a 10 man rotation, this is probably it
The annual "we are deeper than ever" discussion is starting early this year.

Not my dong, everyone else's. I'm just the facilitator, profiting off the weakness and low-self esteem of others.

Can confirm. My shoulder things (I believe the layman's term is "arms") have not gone away on their own.

Calhoun is a different coach than Sprinkle. I watched snippets of 7 games over the two years. He rotates guys in and out more. He likes to run and play with speed. He uses the TV timeouts and gets guys out a minute or two before the TV timeout and back in a few minutes after. He plays up to 10 guys 10 minutes plus.

In watching Calhoun's teams, you don't see guys gassed like Great, Darius, Ian and Mason looked at times last year. They sucked it up and played, but when you go back and watch the tape, EVERY one of one them had the majority of their turnovers when they were gassed. Sprinkle just kept them in too long at times and should have used those TV timeouts to his advantage.

The other reality here is that we were fortunate we didn't have more injuries than just Max. It's fairly normal for two to three guys miss time b/c of injuries. You have guys get in foul trouble too. Any really good tourney team is 10 deep. I love the moves Calhoun is making and he is building a team to repeat as MWC champs and make a run in the tourney. Coming from a former college player, players will sacrifice some playing time to be on a winning team.
