Not that it really matters, but…

Hard, hard pass. Ultra overrated MW player IMO.

Genuinely curious what people like about Roddy’s game. If not for the name on the back of his jersey, nobody would be clamoring for us to go after a backup PG who couldn’t cut it for Boise State.

If our new guy is who I believe it is, I’m far more excited about him than I would be for Roddy.

He’s athletic, can defend. Can create his own shot. Has some Dog in him.

People act like stat lines as a true sophomore in a new league are the end all be all.

People forget Ashworth wasn’t great early either.

If you give the kid time he will be good. Last year was his adjustment year, this year is his breakout year. Y’all will see

Anderson is certainly a MWC level starting PG. The fact that he started at on an NCAA tournament team from the MW says how good he is. But I think we have better options. Wyoming, Fresno or SJSU would be lucky to have him. Or maybe CSU, not sure what their plan is without stevens.

I am not going by his stat line. I am going by the fact that in many games he couldn't stay on the floor because of the inconsistency of his outside shot.

Sheesh, wasn’t he a freshman? Give the kid a break. I think he has a pretty big upside with some good coaching.

Sophomore, not sure on his redshirt status. Played a year at UCSD before Boise

Can create his own shot.
If he misses the shot most of the time, is that really valuable? I mean, all of us can create our own shots too if there is no expectation of making it go through the hoop.

Yeah I honestly have no idea what his stat line looks like, I haven’t checked. But I watched 10+ Boise games this year and was never once impressed by him, outside of his athleticism. You can’t be an effective point guard at this level when defenses back off to dare you to shoot.

Perhaps this will be his breakout season. But there’s a reason Boise recruited over him.

I feel like everybody is acting like they know who our backup point guard is going to be. Did I miss this hint somewhere? Is Ashworth coming back or something? :stirpot:

I'm not saying there's a better or worster option out there, but let's just say the new guy's going to roll(ie) in and do some work. Given that the length of basketball court is about 31 yards, let's just say he could throw that basketball the length of two basketball courts.

Unfortunately Roddie was a liability for Boise in extended minutes at the point due to his shooting. If he did come here, I hope it would only be for limited minutes, which I doubt is what he is looking for
Yeah he's leaving Boise because he lost his starting job, so he's not coming here to be a back up. And I like the new PG's passing ability and size much better.
Aren't they both about the same size?
No, they aren't
Did something recently change? From what I've seen on-line they are both about 6'2" or 6'3" and weigh about 190lbs. I haven't seen either of them in person so I'm only going by what is listed.

Classic misdirection that you would expect from a high-quality quarterback point guard.

Are you referring to Albury? I’m referring to the new PG.
Yeah. I was referring to Albury. I was thinking he was the new PG. You must be referring to the new backup PG. When will you let us know who is the new backup PG?
Sorry it’s not mine to tell. Aggies22 is just waiting for the go ahead.
Are you 22’s intern or something these days?
More like his hype man.

Albury is the point guard, but Hipster seems to be suggesting we’re still waiting on the point GOD. Hope this mystery man is announced soon and lives up to the hype!
Back up point, but an upgrade from Javon.
A long PG, somewhere between 77 and 79 inches?

Dammit, math is the last thing I want to do when I visit one of the sports forums. Do I convert to centimeters first, and then to feet?? He could be a midget for all I know.

Centimeters first and then to kilograms, pounds, and finally to feet.

Might get to see Roddie in the Spectrum again next season - if he commits to SLU on his visit:
