Yeah in this day and age to have him, falslev and the big fish all back is a colossal win. Hope Great comes back too, but obviously not planning on it.

If Great stays, next year’s team may be the best Aggie team ever on paper.
Even if Great does not stay, it could still end up being the best Aggie team ever.

Re: Ian Martinez
Could be, but it would be hard to beat the team that went to the Elite Eight in 1970. Very fast and physical. Wayne Estes Senior year was very good too.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑April 22nd, 2024, 4:56 pmIf Great stays, next year’s team may be the best Aggie team ever on paper.

Problem with B-Ball is it is so easy to get totally gutted. Football has more redundancy.

But also a lot easier to rebuild, and a single player makes a much bigger difference in bball. It's much more realistic for a school like ours to be elite in basketball.Blue Sage wrote: ↑April 22nd, 2024, 6:12 pmProblem with B-Ball is it is so easy to get totally gutted. Re: Ian Martinez
I kind of wonder, as far as NIL is concerned has the football portal losses turned into basketball portal gains? With Coop, Booth and Switzer hitting the portal, does the collective all of the sudden have more cash to throw around in basketball?

Honestly, Ian and Falslev were probably my two favorite players to watch last year. Ian's athleticism was so fun! I was probably most bummed about the though of him leaving over any other player. I'm super excited to have him back!

I think Ian might be the most athletic guard we’ve ever had. I still don’t know how he dunked this.

Re: Ian Martinez
I would have to vote for Kevin Rice. He still has the most amazing dunk I have seen from an Aggie player, at home against Long Island in December 1997. He got a rebound on his own missed free throw, jumped (without a running start) from the side line of the lane and had a hammer reverse “ram” dunk.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑April 22nd, 2024, 7:20 pmhttps://x.com/ustate_chad/status/176666 ... 59145?s=46

One side benefit of all announcements is that I can watch the TCU game (yet again ) and see players that will be playing in Logan again next year. It’s been a while since I had the opportunity to see past players who will be back.
