That's just turning college sports into the straight-up minor leagues.

Worse, there is basically no contract.

It was the minor leagues.
Baseball had the system to solve it before NIL, but the greed of colleges got what they asked for.

This is still silly, but one step closer to players becoming employees under contract, which I think is a good thing

I’d rather universities pay than fans/boosters.

With public universities, isn't that the same thing? fans/boosters taxes go to the university and then to the students.

This is insanity. For me anyway. I'm not sure what I'm going to do here moving forward. It's hard to see a positive end-game for the USU's of the world.

Again, the madness only ends when interest ends. If they want to kill the golden goose then I guess that is what will happen. It is very sad. I was only watching USU anyways. Once that passes, I am free to do what I wish.

I hate to quit, so I won't. I added a couple football seats for this coming season and won't give up my bball seats...they're too good! I'll focus on having fun with my family and friends. And all you good Aggies. :)

Here's what i want to know. How does title 9 work with schools being in control of pay. Won't they have to pay out equally to women's teams? I don't see how that would work.

The next escalation is making players employees and having contracts. It’s inevitable at this point.

I would love to have contracts for players. There needs to be more control on this chaos.

Would also be nice to have a successful local business throw a ton of cash into an NIL fund

I wonder how long people will be willing to put out this insane amount of money when only one team can win the natty each year.

It will be interesting to see how the next few years go when these donors don't get the results they expect. I think the rage of building NIL coffers will peak then crash a little. My economic mind says there should be self correction. At least I hope.

Are we going to start letting players wear a patch acknowledging their sponsors on their uniforms?😀

Or naming rights. I’d like to hear during pre-game player introductions something like:
… and from Kyiv, Ukraine, the Dogie shooting guard at Utah State University, Max Shulga!
