Agreed, i don't want home/home with Utah Tech, SUU, UVU or ISU but would much rather have them on our schedule as buy games versus South Dakota School Of Mines. There are plenty of big sky or big west teams that would do buy games with the Aggies.

I'm the opposite in that I think it's fun to see unfamiliar and new teams like Alcorn State we have never gotten to see before and always look forward to OOC games against those teams. I know I have said this before, but I carry that preference over to all sports, from liking the football games against Stony Brook, North Dakota and Tennessee Tech as a diversion from the Weber- SUU- Idaho State rotation, not liking how we cancelled a game against a new team in Mississippi State for USC who we have seen before, even not liking in women's soccer how we EVERY TIME get paired with BYU in the NCAA tournament instead of getting to play someone new we have never played before.

That said, it's good we are able to afford the buy games and only play Alcorn State at home where it's a near guaranteed win as opposed to doing a return game where we go risk losing to them at their place, but if we are in a position to have to give some teams return games, I would think it's better to play teams like Utah Tech, Southern Utah or Idaho State home-home where it's an easy bus ride that doesn't take nearly as much out of the kids as a cross country flight.

The problem I have with us playing Utah Tech is that the game is basically their NCAA first round, meaning they'll be extra motivated, and if we win, so what, it's expected, but if they win... yikes. Well, maybe they'll become the next UVU (still haven't beaten us since becoming D1).

I am 100% in favor of it when they are good. But if they are sub-150 in NET as they are currently, I'm significantly less enthusiastic. Playing Q3/Q4 games in OOC can basically only hurt you because a win counts for nothing and a loss is devastating. If they are in the top 135 and we can at least get a Q2 game when we play on the road, I'm okay with that. But if both legs are going to be Q3/Q4, then I'd rather focus on scheduling top WCC/A10/MVC/AAC teams.

I don't care about quads when you can have FUN playing against regional opponents that I care about. Top teams don't come to Logan. Not sure why people think they will. There's a reason they haven't

I'm also completely fine with playing either of those teams when they're competitive. But both have been super up and down lately.

Yes, that's why I said it. I find it as interesting for us to play Weber and uvu as much as I would like to play Utah in football even though they are better than us. Don't get mad at me, just look at the series record. Regional games are fun.

I'm not mad at you, I just strongly disagree. I'd rather play a home-and-home with a competitive A-10 team like Saint Louis than play in Orem against a UVU team that went 16-16 last year.

If we can't beat Utah Tech at home, we are probably not an NCAA team anyway. This is a game that USU should win even if our opponent is motivated.

Not completely, but we only have a limited number of OOC games, especially with the MWC moving to a 20-game schedule. I'd rather not schedule games against teams that won't help our NCAA resume unless we run out of opponents that will help our resume.

I want a home-home agreement with UVU, Weber, byu, Utah. Mix in Idaho State, SUU, and Utah Tech every couple years.

I know byu and Utah ain't going to happen.

Rather play these schools than San Diego, NAIA, East Tennessee.

Utah and BYU are sharing non-conference opponents.

It's possible that we offered to schedule a game in a player's home state to get him to commit, but are waiting on him cause him committing is the only way we are scheduling the game.

My source says 1st game is against unknown opponent on Nov 1, which is 176 days, 9 hours away.

There’s no update to the secret scrimmage that we will potentially have that will only be hinted about either.

My only update is that on March 15, 2025 we will be playing San Diego State in the Thomas and Mack Center.

Serious comment about the schedule: will be interesting to see when league play starts now that we are going to a 20 game MWC schedule. Traditionally, it's been first week in January. Wonder if it will now start in December.

20-game schedule usually goes regular conference schedule plus 1-2 games in end-of-November to early-December

I'm interested to see if and or where they play in a preseason tournament. Depending on the location I would like to go.

What dates is the MWC tournament next spring? Never too early to book a room

I think they're taking a trip to Europe.

Away games are my favorite way to travel. Usually go to somewhere that's not a destination, tickets aren't usually a big cost, and you have 1.5 days just to see the local sights.
