For me it would make more sense to enter the portal like Mason did than wait if you just want to see options. Why wait and see who the new coach is if you have already made up your mind that you are entering the portal to see your options.
Logistically, I agree. It also gives you some nice cover if you come back. "Well, coaches changed and I wanted to enter the portal to see what options were given the change. After meeting new coach, I decided to come back"

Anyone entering portal after they meet new coach would appear to be sending one of two messages: "I don't like this guy so I'm for sure leaving" or "I don't fit this guys program/style so I'm moving on"

Entering the portal is also a great way to assess your NIL worth, even if it is your intention to stay at the current school.

That would be at least 3 guards under 6'4 coming in, this would have been Mason's spot. See who else comes after him.

That dude from Rice had been in the portal for exactly 2 weeks today. Just seems weird why Sprinkle would wait this long to sign

I’ve heard that Mason wasn’t too keen on Sprinkle anyway and our biggest competition for keeping him is with Utah & BYU for the massive NIL deals they’re offering him.

No idea. Just heard they're offering him significant NIL deals. :noidea:

Why would Javon leave? His choice or coaches choice? I would like to see him and the other two you listed stay as well, of course.

To get a scholarship? My guess is that Calhoun would keep him on as a walk on but if he would rather bring someone else in with an open scholarship.

That makes sense, I forgot that he did not have an academic scholarship.
