Only mildly related but UNLV is also in the NIT quarterfinals tonight. Go Running Rebs!
I haven't paid attention. Do we get any payout from University of Never Left Vegas being in the NIT, similar to NCAA credits?

The only time I would ever want a ute win is if they play byu, but only if utes have at least 2 injuries.

Yes, I believe the conferences evenly distribute $23 and some Arby's coupons between all of their members.

VCU has played in Philly, Tampa and now somewhere(?) in Utah within a week. NIT really did them no favors.

They look a little gassed. Still hanging around but that last 3 hurts. Lucky shot.

Smith coaching angry like he knows the pressure he is under. He got a T in the first half. For what it is worth falslev and Johnson are here. Both solid dudes, but I could live without Ute fans trying to recruit them.

I tuned in late so I must have missed Odom getting a T. Smith did tho.

I highly doubt Mason is gonna go back to a coach he left. I’m sure they are there to see Shulga, Bairstow and Odom.

Odom did not, so assume he made a typo...Odom is not under high pressure in Richmond, either.

One game sample size with either of them was always iffy. Never knew what you'd get from one night to the next.

Max has been off for the last 2-3 weeks. He has a shoulder issue and recurring back spasms. Had a great season up until this point. Bairstow regressed in Richmond.

I've lost track with the covid year and all. Does Shulga or Bairstow have any eligibility left or is this the last hurrah?

Bairstow is done. Shulga has another year, but rumors are that he might go play pro in Europe.

These announcers don't know what they're talking about. Saying that you Utah has one of the best home court atmospheres. What have they been seeing they had damn curtains in there to cover up half the stadium.

It is an absolute embarrassing homecourt atmosphere, but their homecourt record was pretty good this year and their road record was abysmal

Odom ball is live and die by the 3. No surprise that Odom's VCU team loses.

Well crap. To put lipstick on the pig, now I hope Utah wins the NIT, saving Smith's contract, so the excruciating mediocrity can grind on in Salt Lake...

I believe Smith's contract was secure heading into the NIT, even if Utah had lost the opening game. Unfortunately, Utah has shown signs of improvement under Smith, and his buyout is considerable. The fate of Smith will hinge on the upcoming season, yet I too hope that he maintains the status quo just enough to avoid getting canned, unless, of course, that entails securing a spot in the NCAA tournament. I hope Utah gets their asses kicked in their next game.

Yep smith will get next year and be fired after the season when they fail to make the tournament, possibly during the season to give Burgess a shot

BYU was average in the WCC, then goes to B12 and all of sudden had a good team. Maybe Utah will get a similar B12 bump lol

They just need to schedule the NET 300 teams at home and RUTS. That should get them the Top 25 NET to start the season.
