Aggies22 missed twice but I still love his posts
Appreciation post for Aggies22 here! I love his posts and insights, especially when it comes to supporting BA and his staff. I will say he missed on two occasions 1. Smith to Utah and 2. Sprinks to UW. I was looking forward to seeing Pope in purple. While it's a bummer, I think it suggests these situations are more fluid than we all realize.
Aggies22, keep doing what you are doing my dude.

Re: Aggies22 missed twice but I still love his posts
I disagree that he missed with Sprinkle to Washington.
He said that Pope was willing to undercut Sprinkle in hopes of getting the job and that Sprinkle to Washington wasn't a done deal due to that.
Clearly, Washington still wanted Sprinkle so it ended up happening.
I'm entirely confident that what Aggies22 posts is true when it is posted. Thing is, stuff can change quickly.

As for smith, these situations are fluid. The situation can change rapidly.

Re: Aggies22 missed twice but I still love his posts
These situations are always highly complex with multiple things happen at once. Things can also change rapidly. Pope did go after the Washington job, then Washington's AD left and Sprinkle started sniffing elsewhere so Washington hurried and locked him down. Nothing that aggies22 said was wrong. With Smith, he turned down Utah multiple times before they finally put a deal in front of him that he couldn't say no to.

Yeah Aggies22 always said that Sprink was a high probability to UW. If I remember right he said Pope may be in the running as well. Not sure what else you want. What a passive aggressive thread you started. Aggies22 always has good insights and is well connected.

Pope to UW would have been amazing, especially since all my neighbors in YBU land keep reminding me that USU is nothing but a stepping stone. Lucky for them Pope has been underwhelming at YBU, of course Sprink was the trendy pick that everybody wanted. Had he declined probably would have been Pope.

Re: Aggies22 missed twice but I still love his posts
Like someone mentioned in another thread, Aggies22 is known publicly. Anyone that shares info with him knows there is a good chance it can become public. He might not get certain high level info due to that. And what he does get, he has to verify or be careful in how he shares it to protect sources.
There are clearly some people on this board that are getting good inside info, but have the benefit of being anonymous so they can be more fast and loose with what they share.
If you've been on this board long enough, you know who those posters are. If you've been alive long enough, you know that info can and will change. I appreciate anyone with inside info willing to share, because I never have any lol

I’ve said it before, 22’s biggest weaknesses are that he’s neither a soothsayer nor a mind reader, but neither are we. So his information is still miles ahead of 99% of us.

I think you misunderstood was 22 was saying. He never said Pope was going to Washington and he never said Sprinkles wasn't going to Washington. He said Pope wants out of ybu and never insinuated that Sprinkles wanted to stay in Logan. I appreciate what Aggie22 brings to the table. You know what he says is true at the time he says it, but situations are fluid and will change. I also get the feeling that he knows A LOT more about the situation that he can't tell us. I can appreciate a guy who shares things when it's okay for them to be shared, but I appreciate a guy even more when he keeps things in confidence when requested.
Keep up the good work 22!!

Wow, we do have a thin-skinned group here.
I'm not bashing A22. He said Pope to UW. This shirt isn't ugly. I agree with many of you that it's fluid and he presented data when he had it. It's important because it's good to know that our best source of truth isn't always 100% accurate.

Whenever I've given info to Aggies22 (and believe it or not I have), he has also been very interested in confirming anything before taking it public. Dude is so good at what he does. I'm sure he gets tired of me DMing him on a daily basis.

Soothsayer? Meh, been there, done that. Any midget at a carnival can read minds.
I think his biggest weakness is his inability to fly or breath underwater. Trust me when I say this is to his detriment and could lead to his downfall and implosion.

I really appreciate 22’s insights here, he is right a lot more than he is wrong and I enjoy his comments.
In some cases, it can be challenging (at least for me) to know whether 22 (or anyone for that matter) is sharing “insider” information or just opinion.

Re: Aggies22 missed twice but I still love his posts
The coaching staff commented that they were absolutely shocked when he was cleared to play. I don't see that as a miss either. No one on the staff thought he was getting approved.Pacobag wrote: ↑March 26th, 2024, 1:33 pmI really appreciate 22’s insights here, he is right a lot more than he is wrong and I enjoy his comments.

I believe he said Martinez wouldn’t be cleared by the NCAA to play this year. Initially I thought that was insider info but when Ian was cleared to play, I realized it was 22’s opinion or the opinion of one of 22’s sources. When Max got injured, I believe 22 said Max’s season was over. Then a little bit later Max was playing again (although the injury did eventually end Max’s season). That doesn’t make 22 a liar or a bad source, it just means he’s human…. Sorry 22.

To lazy to go back and pour through old posts, but I recall 22 as saying Max's injury "could be" season ending and that he was going to try to play through it. In hindsight, he was 100% correct.ProvoAggie wrote: ↑March 26th, 2024, 1:37 pmThe coaching staff commented that they were absolutely shocked when he was cleared to play. Re: Aggies22 missed twice but I still love his posts
Ian was interesting - under the rules he should've stayed ineligible. Then the NCAA did the asinine and started granting subjective waivers. This led to a lot of confusion and finally the barrier being lifter for all players. No one could've guessed what the NCAA would do and when until it all crumbled.
The timing for these players eligibility was fortunate/unfortunate. For example had Martinez not been ruled eligible when he was, USU probably wouldn't have gone to the NCAA tournament. On the flip side had Joe Bamisile been ruled eligible earlier, VCU would've likely gone to the NCAA tournament.

Re: Aggies22 missed twice but I still love his posts
Aggies22 has great info. I know that Pope wants out of Provo and was willing to take a big discount on his deal (at least in the early years of it) to get the UW job. He has interviewed for a bunch of jobs the last few years. UW just really prioritized Sprinkle.
I don't recall Aggies22 saying Pope to Washington was happening, just that it could and Pope wanted it, both of which are absolutely true but even if he is wrong once every few years, no one is paying for the info shared on this board so I am appreciative of anyone willing to share what they hear/know.
