What evidence of this? And why would BYU want him?

I think he might be looking to transfer to Utah or Washington, more likely, as he's familiar with the coaches

Excuse my ignorance on the topic, is this money that was collected from a group of donors or one donor specifically? If it's a group of people of modest means (like myself) that's demoralizing to say the least.

Is basketball different than football? When a football player enters the portal, they are gone no matter what, but when a basketball player enters, they can come back, I prefer the football way of looking at things.

I will miss Falslev, (I mean I will really miss watching him) he is a great player, and he could be a USU hero, but if he wants to leave then let him leave. Next man up, this is the future and sooner (I hope) the fans and boosters will get tired of this and stop caring, which means they will stop paying. This cannot happen fast enough.

It's not a basketball VS. football thing. It's a going through a coaching change VS. not going through a coaching change thing. We let Thompkins leave not knowing who was succeeding Gary 2.0. and then let him come back after deciding it was a better situation with Blake. But then when guys other years left, we had to not let them back setting a precedent that other guys can test the waters and come back.

This year, we will let anyone who enters the portal before knowing who the coach is back if they change their minds when they know, but likely when there are years we aren't making a change, we will similarly not let back the guys who test the waters and don't get the offers they anticipate.

I was told by someone who is in a high position with another school's athletic department, that a private donor gave Washington 3 million to be used solely for NIL money for Sprinkle.
Could be true , could not be true.
But let's assume it is true. And he has 3 Mill to use to buy his next team.
Are you really thinking Mason or any other current player ( besides GO) is better than what money can buy?

$2.8 million, I believe. It's 75% of his remaining contract.

The remainder of his contract is $3,850,000, give or take a few bucks.

75% of that puts the buyout at around $2,887,500.

Though, Washington should have to include an extra month or two of salary in the buyout since he's been working for them for a while now.

I think Great, Ian and Mason would be successful at Washington if you surrounded them with 5* recruits. They beat TCU and were competitive with Purdue until the player substitutions occurred because of foul trouble.

You have to start somewhere and after the 4 million and what he did with the Aggies, Washington isn't going to thrilled with winning 2-3 games in conference. Those 4 guys probably constitute 2 starters and 2 role players on an average Big 10 team and they have played together and Sprinkle trusts them. It gives him a buffer year to try to finish middle of the pack depending on how much NIL salary Washington has available and how lucky he gets. He had better find a comparable replacement to Brown though or it will be a long year.
