Re: Pour One Out
Can’t help but think of my grandfather who passed in late 2021. He was an alum at Utah State and was a huge reason I ended up at USU and not somewhere else (BYU). None of his kids went to Utah State and I was the only grandkid to go to Utah State as well. He was overjoyed when I decided to attend his alma mater. That connection made us grow closer with him. He would always call me or text me after Aggie wins before he passed from cancer in late 2021.
He would’ve loved to see this. Miss him a ton.

Re: Pour One Out
Lost my brother in October 2022. We had sat next to each other as football season ticket holders for 27 years. I live in Salt Lake County and he lived in Garland, Utah. Last time I saw him alive was a Boise home lose :-( I left early and he accused me of not being a true Aggie :-)
When not at the actually sporting event, whether it was a tennis event, track, basketball, anything - when something good (or bad) happened we would text each other instantly and chat about it until our wives would shut us down :-) My heart aches that my brother missed all that has happened since his passing. Arguably the best football season ever, and now another magical basketball season. I still "pavlovianly" reach to text him while watching or hearing about anything Aggie related.
By the way, just so you all know our age, when he passed I got his actually worn, and autographed BILL MONSON football jersey, and Abu Wilson's actual helmet. Not sure how he got the latter :-)

Re: Pour One Out
First q-back I ever saw play was Bill Munson. I think that’s who you mean. Munson played at USU in the early sixties. There may have been a “Monson” but I haven’t heard of him.bob thomposn wrote: ↑March 23rd, 2024, 12:30 pmLost my brother in October 2022. Re: Pour One Out
Lost a close friend last month. Will never forget getting so loud (outside of the student section) in the Spectrum our freshman year that some old lady turned around and told us to shut up.
Very possible that he guided that Josh Uduje brick into the rim, wedgie style, to keep possession and get 20 seconds back on the shot clock.
We would've texted a bunch last night. Gone way too soon.

I honestly didn't know that 72AgGrad passed. I'm very sorry to hear it. One of the more level headed people on this board.
At first I really didn't like jackmormon but we began to get along over on MWCBoard. I miss his takes, and I hope the ones he left behind still celebrate his life. He was a good dude.

Re: Pour One Out
Sat by Steve Wiley for nearly 3 decades in the spectrum Section C row 3, don't forget to pour one out for him. Nate Harris used to come over to him before every game, I think that was the secret to his shooting touch. One game a Utah player made an accusation against me and my brother that wasn't true, the cops came to remove us, Steve fixed it and the cops left empty-handed. His grave is between the stadium and the spectrum, I like to think he's at every game as it's not a far walk. Sure miss him! This is a picture I took of the A the night they lit it blue for "the night runner" . https://www.espn.com/college-football/s ... -last-ride
