There are some big schools out there looking for new coaches.
https://www.espn.com/mens-college-baske ... -2024-2025
I know Washington is the one being talked about, but are there chances some of the other schools could have a bigger offer? Ohio State, Washington, Louisville, Oklahoma State, Vanderbilt and Stanford

Just means it’s even more likely he’s not coming back. Too many suitors that will pay.

I've just told myself he's gone, hopefully we can win 3-4 more games this year, then worry about the future.

Not saying he's staying, but damn, how much reassurance do we need? Give him a second to breath when basketball is done before he decides whether or not he's going to sign away the next decade of his life.

Re: Coaching carousel
Exactly, Danny said "we don't need to worry about him going anywhere" two luncheons ago then said "there is no truth to the Washington rumors" last luncheon. So how would it help anyone if he said the exact same thing as this tweet? We would all still be worried or doubt it because "I don't like you, I love you" or "This is a special place", or "I want a place for my family" and many other famous words by many other coaches just days before leaving. So we can either enjoy the moment or allow emotional reactions based on every whisper to punch out another 12-page thread about the next coach to replace our coach before we even know for sure if he is staying or not all because somebody knows somebody who said something. But that is the privilege of a fan board to air out their anxieties and that I suppose is what makes it fun.flying_scotsman2.0 wrote: ↑March 15th, 2024, 1:48 pmI mean... he did? Re: Coaching carousel
If he was staying, the extension would’ve been signed by the time the conference tournament started. It’s really not more complicated than that.

Re: Coaching carousel
Unless he is still negotiating. Or unless he is open to staying but wants to see what kind of offers he might get before he commits to it. Or unless he already signed the contract but they are waiting to announce it until he can be back in Logan for the press conference. Or unless heaven forbid he is focused on basketball right now and doesn't want to think about his contract or other jobs until the season is over. The fact that (as far as we know) he hasn't signed yet certainly isn't a good sign, but I don't think it is definitive proof that he is leaving, either.Aggiesbleedblue wrote: ↑March 15th, 2024, 3:29 pmIf he was staying, the extension would’ve been signed by the time the conference tournament started. Re: Coaching carousel
The Michigan job worries me for some reason. If Danny wants to go to a big 10 program flush with NIL money, them and OSU would be the ones. I'm really hoping Michigan goes after Dutcher hard even after he's signed this new extension.

Re: Coaching carousel
You won’t find definitive proof until our season ends. But look around the country; numerous coaches signed extensions this week. Danny didn’t. He is long gone. I promise the acceptance phase is better than denial.StanfordAggie wrote: ↑March 15th, 2024, 3:56 pmUnless he is still negotiating. Why would he sign an extension or offer with any school yet?Aggiesbleedblue wrote:If he was staying, the extension would’ve been signed by the time the conference tournament started. It’s really not more complicated than that.
IF the Aggies win the MWT and IF they win a game (or more) in the NCAA tourney, he'll hold the chips to negotiating more than the original offer.

Re: Coaching carousel
100% this, no one is stupid enough to grab a contract and just sign it like that knowing that their stock is likely going to rise. We know he has no formal offers yet, Washington isn't going to just run out and offer Sprinkles on the spot. They know they have time, they can wait out the tournament to see what happens, they don't need a new coach right this second. Kids wont be entering the portal right-a-way, he's in no big hurry to leave.usufan1 wrote: ↑March 15th, 2024, 4:21 pmWhy would he sign an extension or offer with any school yet?Aggiesbleedblue wrote:If he was staying, the extension would’ve been signed by the time the conference tournament started.
