Lol what a totally normal reaction to a comment that was obviously a joke from the beginningNVAggie wrote:It was beyond exaggeration, it was ignorant. Your comparison was flawed, and you knew it.QuackAttackAggie wrote: ↑February 20th, 2024, 3:05 pmI was exaggerating (it was probably 4 or 5 innings), but I had a college game in mind, not an MLB game. I don't know of any others that have gone into the eighth with both teams throwing no- hitters. Although - he didn't specify that it was an MLB game, so who knows?
My point in bringing up flopping is that it gets atrocious in the last 20-30 minutes of a 0-0 tie (or any tie) because the road team wants to secure the point of a road tie. In the 0-0 game I attended, the road team flopped all over the place for 30 minutes and ruined the whole experience. For the 1-0 RSL win, the flopping was less intense by the home team, but the presence of a goal scored and the ensuing celebration wasn't enough to capture my fanhood.
I'm glad you both get to enjoy watching something you like. My dislike of soccer has nothing to do with ignorance of the game or league. I have never liked the blatant flopping in soccer. It is annoying to me. That is the same reason I dumped the NBA long ago.

Re: Sam
I could see how your own personal ignorance could lead to that conclusion. The best part of flopping in soccer is they don’t cut to a commercial break every time that happens. They just either call or don’t call a foul depending on the case put the ball down and it’s back tk the action. Tops 30 seconds. The flopping pretty much ends immediately as soon as the ref sees that a foul has been committed. So it’s only at most a 30 second pause in the nonstop action that you get for 45 minutes a half.NVAggie wrote: ↑February 20th, 2024, 3:22 pmIt was beyond exaggeration, it was ignorant. I seriously do not understand the Cavs, Sam can’t get over 10 minutes anymore. Now all I’m hearing is why they aren’t playing well lately, seems easy for me to figure out.

Yeah he got a dnp tonight. Pretty crazy to find no minutes for him after the run he has had. It was an amazing finish for the cavs with the strus buzzer beater I will say that. Meanwhile my jazz are losing to quin Snyder.columbusaggie wrote: ↑February 27th, 2024, 5:57 pmI seriously do not understand the Cavs, Sam can’t get over 10 minutes anymore. Re: Sam
Crazy he got another dnp. His shooting alone should warrant minutes. He had a great 2 month run. If Cleveland doesn't appreciate him, hopefully he'll find another team that does.

They were the hottest team in the NBA when he was playing major minutes.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑February 28th, 2024, 9:19 pmCrazy he got another dnp. Re: Sam
I perused a Cleveland Cavs fans site last night and there is a thread about Sam. Basically all the Cavs fans hate their head coach, half of them accuse him not playing white players, but all of them think he is an idiot. They all think he lucked into the portion of the season when he had to play Sam (and Dean Wade) and the Cavaliers went off on a long win streak, now that their "starters," Garland and Mobley are back they aren't able to space the floor as well and the team cohesion is off, the are now eeking out a few wins and losing ones that they were handily winning before. I'll say this, if Cleveland doesn't want to play Sam then with the tape he put out there this year there are plenty of teams that can use someone with his shooting for 15-20 minutes a night on a fairly low-cost deal.
It's not that Mitchell needs fewer minutes, though him getting a little rest might help them long term. It is that when Garland and Mobley came back they get minutes and guys like Corey Lavert are still playing the same minutes as before. Honestly, if you can't get Sam 10 minutes a night leave him on the bench, he's got good enough tape out there that it doesn't need to be ruined by never being able to get in a rhythm for 5 minutes a night.

Re: Sam
It's clear for the Cavs they're better with Mitchell at PG & him dominating the ball and running the show. When Garland plays (who is good) he also needs the ball though and they have the right chemistry out there.
The funniest part about this is at the time, I guarantee you the Jazz would've taken Garland back over Markkanen in the Mitchell trade. Cleveland didn't want to trade it's budding star Garland, however. Now looking at it, Markkanen would be the perfect guy to have out there alongside Mitchell. Having him over Garland would've probably given the Cavs a good shot at a championship.

Re: Sam
Agreed, Sam did enough this year that he should get a look from other teams to sign him to a solid 2 year deal. Not sure what his contract status is with the CAVS after this year.Coloraggie wrote: ↑February 29th, 2024, 9:27 amI perused a Cleveland Cavs fans site last night and there is a thread about Sam. Getting starters minutes tonight due to injuries. Started 3-4 from 3, including three in a row.

Re: Sam
Sam goes to a corner and his defender never leaves him while the dribbler goes to the basket one on one. Even without shooting the ball he's making a difference.

Shooting is heating back up. 6 for 11 from three, now. Team high 18 points. Time to pull him.

Re: Sam
The commentator kept saying Sam was being targeted defensively but I didn’t see much that was his fault. On one play he was perfectly set and got run over by Josh Hart but the refs called a block when it was clearly a charge. A couple of other times he was the only one back on a fast break. Not much he could have done about that.

Re: Sam
Ended up 7-13 from three and led the team with 21 points in only 29 minutes.
Thought it was obvious the team was better when he was on the floor. That said, I hate the NBA. It looks like an All-Star game. Every possession is very selfish.

The last time I paid attention to it was when Stockton and Malone split the MVP trophy, so...1992 or 1993? At that time I still watched the NBA a ton, but already couldn't stand the All Star festivities.aggies22 wrote: ↑March 4th, 2024, 6:44 amI'm thinking I haven't watched an all-star weekend since the 90s. Hopefully bickerstaff doesn't use tonight as an excuse not to play Merrill. Outside of Grayson allen, there isn't a guy in the league I'd rather be taking 3s than merrill
