Some I care about, some I don't but I will be interested to see how some of last year's team do in their new digs.
Ashworth: Played 20 minutes and scored 12 pts on 2-3 from 3 pt. land, exhibition vs Wayne State. Was a starter.
Shula and Bairstow did not play in VCU's exhibition. Injured??
Dorius at UVU....no exhibitions yet. Play Carrol College next week.
Rylan...Samford plays Purdue on Monday. Highlight will be dribbling under Edey's legs and stopping there.
Zee...Sacramento St plays Nevada next Tuesday
Zapala ....Longwood plays St Bonaventure Monday.

Bairstow is out 6-8 weeks with injury. I'm worried Rylan Jones is going to get another concussion. I'm sure doctors cleared him, but is risking your future health just to hold on and play for Samford really worth it? Obviously it is to him, but don't think i'd do the same. Fingers crossed he has a healthy season.

My wife's cousin was arunningback in high school. He was fast, but undersized. He made up for the size by playing "tough". That toughness resulted in several concussions during his playing days. Back then, you played through them. Now, 25 years later, he suffers terrible migraines from CTE and can't work full time. They are debilitating headaches that affect him constantly. Don't know what it means for Rylan, but the ESPN box score shows 15 bench players for Samford. 15!!! And R. Jones is at the bottom of the list.

This would be a REALLY bad loss for Odom to start out at VCU.. similar to the UC Davis loss. Mcneese state hasn’t had a winning season in quite some time

McNeese is top rated KenPom in the Southland, but yea...it is the Southland.
How about this! Zapala double-doubled, with 20 pts. and 11 boards vs. St Bonny who KenPom has 2nd in A10. Happy for him. Not bad for 24 minutes on the floor.

I heard something similar, but instead of him saying “us odoms” like some Utah hick, he declared in a regal British accent that they would depart for the dinner party shortly after tea.

Good coach, but wasn’t the best recruiter. Will see how his roster outside of Shulga does, Bairstow isn’t even that great so I can’t imagine they will be all that much better when he’s back.

Good for Zapala. I never was much of a fan of his. Glad to see him doing well. Odom should be fine. He is always good for a Q4 loss to start the season. His teams win some big ones and lose some terrible ones. That is the way of the three point shot.

I always really liked Zapala, even if his time on the court was not my favorite. I think he and Dorius both got too much crap from the boards for the simple fact of not being as good as Queta.

It seems like Sprinkles brought in a lot of high performers from lower conferences to fill out this team. VCU on the other hand has a lot of castoffs. It'll take them longer to gel and improve. As a long time VCU fan and now living much closer to Richmond, I will say that I'm more excited about USUs potential this year.
