Schedule looking ahead

Post by SectionBAggie » January 18th, 2023, 11:08 am

Knowing that there are a LOT of variables in the conference race, I still was interested in how the future schedule looks.
It appears that 5 teams have put themselves ahead of the conference in general - especially if those 5 teams win their games this week against the other 6 teams (which they would be favored to do).

SDSU, UN, UNM, BSU and USU would be those teams - each with 2 or less losses. So the question came to mind of how do those 5 teams line up against each other schedule wise?

SDSU has USU and BSU at home and a road game against each of the others. 2H-4R
UN has SDSU and UNM at home and USU and UNM on the road. 2H-2R.
UNM has SDSU, UN and BSU at home and USU, UN and BSU on the road. 3H-3R
BSU has SDSU and UNM at home and SDSU, USU and UNM on the road. 2H-3R.
USU has SDSU, UN, UNM and BSU at home with SDSU on the road. 4H-1R

USU catches a break in that their skipped road game is at UNM. UNM also catches a break to a degree.

To date, the only one of those 5 teams to lose to one of the other 6 teams is UNM having lost at FSU and at home to UNLV. Their road win at SDSU offsets that a bit. All other games within those 5 teams have been home wins.

If home court is an advantage, USU has the best path among those 5 teams.
