Assists per game

Post by SLB » December 2nd, 2022, 9:30 am

This is very under the radar.
Top 3 for assists per game
Jones 5.4 (the game against Utah Tech doesn't count with Jones)
Ashworth 5.2
Shulga 4.8
I can't remember having 3 guards doing this in the same season.
The Assist/TO Ratio is also nice between the 3.
Jones 3.9
Ashworth 3.4
Shulga 2.1
Season highs on assists in a game
Shulga 10
Ashworth 9
Jones 8 (did it twice)

The team overall passes the ball extremely well. Funk had 7-8 assists last night. The team is very unselfish. On offense the team is playing really well.

Why doesn't the game against Utah Tech count? He played in the game, so it will affect his averages. Did you just remove that game from his average here?

We are No. 1 in country for percent of FGs that are assisted. San Fran game will be interesting as they are No. 8 in terms of defending against A/FG.

As I have explained to @Madmartigan over & over & over--Rylan Jones is the engine that makes our team go and is the clear cut MVP. That was evident as we struggled with Dixie at home while he was out ;).

Agreed, the 2 games that were closest were San Diego and last night. He was sick for San Diego and injured last night. We struggled in both. He may not put up the biggest numbers but is crucial to our team.

Curious as to this thought process. In both those games mentioned we shot over 50% and had no problem scoring. We couldn’t stop them scoring though. So is Jone’s benefit in defense? Leadership? Charges taken? Or is it on offense in slowing the game down and having lower amount of TO’s as a team? We had no problem scoring so just looking for clarification.

The truth is we are 3 headed monster at guard with Jones, Ashworth, and Shulga. Missing Jones hurts us in taking away one of 3 out of the lineup.
