Maybe USD sucks
3 straight D1 losses now.
Eric Williams scored 43 vs us and was 7/8 from 3. In 5 other games he has 60 points combined and is 2/19 from 3.

Maybe they do suck, which is unfortunate, but we did still win against a team where that had a guy go off for 43 points. Maybe that says something to our defense, but I'm inclined to say it wasn't because he was also knocking down heavily guarded shots.

The Aggies didn't play their best basketball in San Diego. Playing on the road is not the same as playing at home and it's where good teams are separated from average teams at best. We'll see if the Aggies can play better on the road in the future.

Finding a way to WIN is what good teams do on the road. He made a lot of very deep 3s and a few with a hand in his face. That was just one of those games where someone played out of their minds. The fact that we can weather something like that is promising.

It's a good sign that he went off and we still found a way to gut out a win in OT. On the plus side, Santa Clara has wins over DePaul and Iona since we drubbed them.
We are thus far a paper tiger that’s a product of a weak schedule. I’ll be very interested to see how we perform against USF.

According to Kenpom, there are 20 undefeated teams left. We are ranked 13th out of those 20. We are ranked above Kansas St, Drake, Sam Houston St, UNLV, New Mexico, Seattle, and Southern miss.
Hopefully Seattle stays undefeated until we play in Hawaii. Would be a fun matchup. They play Washington tonight.

USD just won a game (3-pointer at the buzzer to win by three) where Mr. 43 Williams points took 1 shot. It wasn't foul trouble. May have been an injury but he got 4 rebounds so he had some time on the court.
43 points on 20 shots to zero points on 1 shot. That would be the extremes.

If we hit our free throws and Williams goes a very average 3 of 8 on threes instead of 7 of 8, we win the game by a very solid 15 points on the road.
But then again, if we don't count break away runs, RBs would have terrible YPC in football.
