Charge called on Rylan Jones with 3:48 left in the game
I don't know what that call was. It might be the worst one I've ever seen. It's at about the 1:50:00 mark in this video. The defensive player pushes down an offensive player and they found a way to call that a charge.

Dave Hall would have called a technical on Rylan and ejected him from the game.

Verne would've called a flagrant 2 and given him a red card.FloridaAggie13 wrote: ↑November 23rd, 2022, 7:07 amDave Hall would have called a technical on Rylan and ejected him from the game.

That was an awful call. Rylan was trying to run around him and the guy was sliding into him.

I was listening on the radio but it sounded like the flop that was called on an Oral player a few plays later may have been a make up call for that. Sounded like the ref knew he screwed up.

I don’t know about a make up call. That guy barely got touched and went down. They had a few calls like that go their way so maybe that was a make up call for the previous charge calls they got.rAggie wrote:I was listening on the radio but it sounded like the flop that was called on an Oral player a few plays later may have been a make up call for that. Re: Charge called on Rylan Jones with 3:48 left in the game
It happened on the court right in front of me. At first I was outraged, and then I watched a replay on twitter. It was one of those cases where Rylan was trying to be clever and draw contact, but in the process he "shouldered" the defensive player and was whistled for a player control foul. If he just continues to move after the pass and avoided trying to draw the contact there is no problem. For Rylan, it was a case of trying to "do too much," he initiated the contact and got called for it.

I have watched the replay several times trying to be objective. That is not how I see it.AggiesForever wrote: ↑November 26th, 2022, 6:13 pmIt happened on the court right in front of me. Same. All I see is a 10/10 bad call.SectionBAggie wrote: ↑November 26th, 2022, 7:26 pmI have watched the replay several times trying to be objective. Yah the radio crew pushed that hard. I didn't see a makeup call, just a call.

I don't know rules, so if any the well-informed/capable members of the board choose to educate me, perhaps I can see it the right way.FloridaAggie13 wrote: ↑November 26th, 2022, 8:49 pmSorry, no.AggiesForever wrote: ↑November 26th, 2022, 6:13 pmIt happened on the court right in front of me. But from what I see, the opposing player (whose name I've already forgotten, despite him being good) lowers his shoulder, moves laterally into him, lays him out a bit unintentionally, then belatedly falls to the ground as well trying to make it look like he didn't just hit Rylan into oblivion.
I've got no beef with the opposing player; I really liked watching him play. It just seems like a case where things got a little out of hand with no ill will, and the refs called it incorrectly.

Nothing should have been called. I think the refs have sniffed out Rylan Jones's behaviors. He is going to get hit with those types of calls because of that.

The defender not only didn't establish position was still moving.Real Life Aggie wrote: ↑November 27th, 2022, 8:39 pmI don't know rules, so if any the well-informed/capable members of the board choose to educate me, perhaps I can see it the right way.FloridaAggie13 wrote: ↑November 26th, 2022, 8:49 pmSorry, no.AggiesForever wrote: ↑November 26th, 2022, 6:13 pmIt happened on the court right in front of me.
