Aggies get one vote
Aggies get one vote
The Aggie basketball team has one vote in the AP poll that was just released. I was thinking they would get three or four, but it’s a good start.
The Coaches Poll isn’t out yet, and I expect them to at least appear on the list of receiving votes.

Re: Aggies get one vote
SDSU at 17 and UNLV with 5 votes.
New Mexico and Nevada will probably show up in the next poll if they keep winning. I have no idea who they’re playing though.
I think we’ll sit in the receiving votes section for a lot of the season. We probably don’t have the talent to be in the top 25. Too early to tell how good this team really is

Re: Aggies get one vote
You got my vote..
Anyhoo, Nevada is playing Tulane today in the Cayman Islands..Nice work if you can get it.
Should they win they most likely will get Kansas State next. If the Pack loses to Tulane they would likely get Rhode Island
But I am feeling chipper so the rosiest scenario has the Pack vanquishing K-State and beating LSU in the championship game..
If they do that they might get some votes in the poll..

Don't use the word vanquish. You're better than that.nvspuds wrote: ↑November 21st, 2022, 11:28 amYou got my vote..

The word is reminiscent of an in-state school against whom we direct much anger. Because they're a bunch of twats.nvspuds wrote: ↑November 21st, 2022, 1:13 pmI would not say I was better than any word I choose but I will mothball the V word for you as I am a team player..flying_scotsman2.0 wrote: ↑November 21st, 2022, 12:58 pmDon't use the word vanquish. How could you possibly know about "Vanquish the Foe" part of "Rise and Pout?"
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

It just rubs people wrong, like that nasty "Rebels" chant that those clowns in Vegas do.

At any rate...It would be really cool to (the word I am not supposed to say) Kansas State today.

Hold that thought on Wyoming until Ike returns for the conference part of the schedule.

Re: Aggies get one vote
Wyo will come back with Ike in conference play and kick our (plural of the word I'm not supposed to say). Lame
Re: Aggies get one vote
Oh they will get better, but they should have beaten the teams without Ike. They have a lot of good players and a good coach… and the teams they are losing to are not good.
Re: Aggies get one vote
We have Wyoming at home on Jan 10th. Hopefully he has yet to find his groove when we play them in Logan.

Maldonado went out with a nasty head injury early in their loss to Boston College. For some stitches and possibly a concussion (pure speculation). Not sure if he will miss any additional games or not, but that’d be another huge blow.

Either way the terrible performance by Wyoming shows maldonaldo shouldn’t be close to a first team guy in this conference. They have been terrible without Ike.

I don't like WYO so I am enjoying their early season struggles. I know they don't have Ike but I he have been playing awful. They brought in high level transfers but have not looked good. I am sure they will put it together though. I think the surprise of the conference so far is USU, NEV and SJSU. All were picked really low and have exceeded expectations so far.

Re: Aggies get one vote
It should be noted the MW preseason poll is just for the in conference guesses. It doesn't take ooc into account. Everybody plays a different schedule. At this point no school has exceeded or under achieved their conference rankings. Nobody has played a conference game yet. It is, in fact, impossible to tell how any school will do in conference 5 or 6 weeks from now.
I personally root for all conference mates to win ooc. Those wins help everybody.

True. Although I have a hard time cheering for the Aztecs….ever, but I did force myself to cheer for them last night as I dislike Ohio State even more.nvspuds wrote:It should be noted the MW preseason poll is just for the in conference guesses. Aztec fans are pretty chill imo. It is the absolute douchecanoe running the Show's twitter account who needs to walk backward into a field of dicks.

The older fans that I've met are pretty chill. The students that I've encountered are like a walking version of the Show's twitter account and their twitter fan base even outside of the official Show account is pretty vile.
