I can see why they called it a travel. The audio is awesome.

"25.2.2. A player falling, lying or sitting on the floor:

It is legal when a player falls and slides on the floor while holding the ball or, while lying or sitting on the floor, gains control of the ball.
It is a violation if the player then rolls or attempts to stand up while holding the ball."

So was it called a travel when the player pulled him over into a rolling motion?

I think they called it because he fell. The rule you have copied says that is not a violation, but that is probably what they called.

Rule 9, Section 5, Article 7: It is traveling when a player falls to the playing court while holding the ball without maintaining a pivot foot.

He had possession (feet touching the court) and then fell to the court while holding the ball. Pivot foot wasn't maintained.

Now whether he was pulled down or not is another question. Hard to tell from the video angle, but the player next to him who went for the rebound may have grabbed him and pulled him down.

Which ref called the travel? The one at the bottom of the picture appeared to be about to call a foul on the SD player for jumping on Akin.

Base line ref called the travel, when I watched it live I thought he was calling a foul

True, but much more tolerable than live though.

Looks like he was undercut a little by bairstow.

Seems like a good non call situation. Just call the time out that was being signaled.

Do we have a slow motion replay to see how many times Williams steps prior to hitting the game tying 3 in regulation? Was that a travel? Honest question.

Not intentionally. It was a designed play to get the swap.

Edit: I actually think it was designed to get Williams open, but ashworth ended up pulling onto williams so williams ran towards the baseline to get open.

It was a travel but it was closer than I thought. And it’s not great to have a Ashworth covering that guy I would like somebody taller. The real problem I have with it is why Are we guarding anybody inside the three-point line. We were up three the only thing that can hurt us is a three everybody else inside the three-point line we should let go.

Thanks Davis! Looks like 3 steps to me but I can see why the refs didn’t call it. Want to leave it in the players hands to decide the game.

I feel like we should have just left the twos open. If they want to make a two then let them have it.

I count 3 steps after he catches the ball. Two steps would have put him at a awkward angle to shoot.

Why didn't we deny him the ball and let him score two?

We gave him the perfect shot for a left handed shooter. Very poor defense.
