Re: Copy Cats
It's a flattering take, but lots of student sections have been using these well before the HURD started.

Re: Copy Cats
I gotta admit, they had a pretty good optical illusion distraction last year when we played them. ( I think it was last year) They had two banners that they pulled back and forth, which was super trippy. We shot terribly from the free-throw line that game.

Yeah, I am pretty sure that the Hurd has not done anything original in at least 12 season.

Weird thread. We all hate byu, but let’s not act like everything known to mankind was made at USU.

Let’s take it easy on the OP. After all, it is ybu and they do suck, they are unoriginal, and they are losers. Always have been and always will be.

If your winning and you know it clap your hands was original. (I’m not taking credit for it) just pointing out something that was original.LarryTheAggie wrote: ↑November 16th, 2022, 10:26 pmYeah, I am pretty sure that the Hurd has not done anything original in at least 12 season.

Let's ditch the dumb cardboard cutouts before we start accusing anyone else of being unoriginal.

Re: Copy Cats
The Queta arms were great, too, though I suppose I don't know if that's been done elsewhere before. Regardless, it was unique enough. I could do without Shrek and Baby Shark, though.Dkdavis wrote: ↑November 16th, 2022, 10:56 pmIf your winning and you know it clap your hands was original. I'm pretty sure the Queta arms were inspired by a UNLV prop...that made it's debut against USU.BigBlueDart wrote: ↑November 17th, 2022, 9:10 amThe Queta arms were great, too, though I suppose I don't know if that's been done elsewhere before. Re: Copy Cats
I liked our Queta better, but their "Khem Kong" was probably more impressive.ProvoAggie wrote: ↑November 17th, 2022, 9:16 amI'm pretty sure the Queta arms were inspired by a UNLV prop...that made it's debut against USU.BigBlueDart wrote: ↑November 17th, 2022, 9:10 amThe Queta arms were great, too, though I suppose I don't know if that's been done elsewhere before. I think ODU was the first to do this with a giant Kent Bazemore around a decade ago:BigBlueDart wrote: ↑November 17th, 2022, 9:10 amThe Queta arms were great, too, though I suppose I don't know if that's been done elsewhere before. Re: Copy Cats
If we can please stop with the “stupid, stupid, stupid” chants. To me they are just… well, stupid.

Re: Copy Cats
I know, let's suggest the Hurd not do any chants that are not 100% original this year.
And if a lot of students show up let's point out it's never been the same since the glory days.
Then let's start a big thread about general sports attendance decline, and point out the population of Cache Valley, and point out the Wasatch Front Aggies and all the untapped potential for engagement.
Also, it's no fun to attend when we schedule nobody's, but also not fun going if we don't win every night.
And let's keep up the same complaints for like 10 years running.

Re: Copy Cats
Speaking of unique student body participation, have you seen what Pitt does with the "Sweet Caroline" song? Maybe I'm just late to the party, but I saw this recently and found it unique and entertaining. They "made the song theirs", as the people say.

Re: Copy Cats
This is why I asked on my last thread about the student section to not talk about the glory days because it always diverts into this same conversation every time! I think you nailed it spot on.trevordude wrote: ↑November 17th, 2022, 10:05 amI know, let's suggest the Hurd not do any chants that are not 100% original this year.

We shot terrible from the free throw line EVERY game. Don’t give them too much credit.Dkdavis wrote: ↑November 16th, 2022, 9:46 pmI gotta admit, they had a pretty good optical illusion distraction last year when we played them.
