Re: Ashworth injured
Speculation much? The game isn't even over. Let's not speculate as to what injuries someone has suffered.

Re: Ashworth injured
I was screaming at the TV to get him and Jones out minutes before he went down. No reason to be in there. I hope he’s ok, he’s been balling out.

I'm actually really smart, probably smarter than you are so if you disagree with what I have stated in this post, you are likely wrong (and dumb).

Coach said on the postgame that it’s a tweaked ankle…. Thinks he’ll be fine

I think it’s a possible neck fracture, we don’t know if Steven will ever walk again

Re: Ashworth injured
No need to pile on gfa, Ashworth was obviously in pain and couldn’t put weight on it. Def ankle but could’ve been knee just as easily
I’d be happy if we get him back by Hawaii tourney to be honest

Re: Ashworth injured
From what I understand it's an ankle injury that looked much worse than what it really is. Ashworth will be fine.

He is highly unlikely to play the next game and I am doubting next week as well.

Or thereabouts
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Re: Ashworth injured
I hope it is just an ankle sprain. Ashworth is the Energizer bunny on the court. He is a literal pest for opposing teams, but you love him on your team. I love watching him play.

Re: Ashworth injured
It looked really bad, but ankle injuries hurt a lot. I just want him to be able to do his thing out there. A bum ankle would hinder that a bit.

Re: Ashworth injured
I rolled an ankle real bad playing pickup ball during college years-
passed out from the pain after hopping off the floor and out into the hallway
swelled to about 175% of normal size within 30 minutes of taking off my shoes
black and blue started being visible about the time swelling started to go down and had coloration for about 2 weeks
couldn't put any weight on it for about 3-6 hours
could walk almost normal in about 2 days
was playing ball again in 7 days - lateral movement and jumping was tough
got back to my normal (slow) speed again in about 3weeks
mostly pain free within 45
I hope SA is no worse than this, and with professional trainers, will recover better.

Re: Ashworth injured
After the game his teammates approached him and he looked to say to them he is fine. Looks like the crutches are an overabundance of caution and trying to get healing as quick a possible. I think he plays next game.

This is quite a bummer. Ashworth has been our best player per the advanced stats.

Re: Ashworth injured
if he shouldn't walk on it, how is he going to do that without crutches, i don't think overabundance, just good practice to keep weight off. i guess he could use a wheelchair, now that would be overabundance. not attacking just thinking good practiceColoraggie wrote: ↑November 15th, 2022, 8:32 amAfter the game his teammates approached him and he looked to say to them he is fine. Re: Ashworth injured
Hopefully he can heal quickly, but once you roll an ankle good, it is weakened. A weakened ankle is easily rolled again, and again, and again. Speaking from experience - that first good roll of an ankle is a killer. He'll need a good tape crew to be confident enough to play his game on that ankle.

Hopefully not the start of chronic problems like Sam has had to deal with.Yossarian wrote: ↑November 15th, 2022, 11:12 amHopefully he can heal quickly, but once you roll an ankle good, it is weakened. Re: Ashworth injured
This is a strange ankle sprain. Usually you sprain the lateral side of your ankle. He apparently injures his right ankle while in motion left. He must've not planted well and rolled his right foot medially. Either way, it didn't look like a particularly violent injury. Couple that with the fact that he's a little guy, I bet he'll be good to go in a couple weeks.
But I'm no master of ankle injuries, so take that for what it's worth.
