6'4 is nice height for a PG and average for a SG. Anybody know anything about him?

I talked to my buddy who lives up in Farr West. He said the kid is a good ball player but not yet as athletic as more physical maturity should provide. It will be interesting to watch his growth and progress over the next two years.

Re: Hunter Hansen
Do we know if he’s a mission kid?
He’s 16, it’s probable that he’ll grow a couple inches yet too. Ultimately it just depends on the work he puts in, so the coaching staff must be confident he has enough raw talent to help us compete in the MW. Excited to see how he turns out!

Re: Hunter Hansen
Averaged 15.5 as a sophomore at 41% from 3? No idea what Fremont's team was like last year, but those are solid numbers.
Also does he come from an Aggie family? Crazy he didn't wait for any other offers, which were bound to come.
Either way, welcome to the Aggie family!

They finished third in region 1 at the 6A level. And then they got bounced in the second round of the playoffs.flying_scotsman2.0 wrote: ↑August 31st, 2022, 7:10 amAveraged 15.5 as a sophomore at 41% from 3? No idea what Fremont's team was like last year, but those are solid numbers.

15 points per game average on a 6A team as Sophomore is pretty dang good. Excited to see how he develops over his last 2 years.

Yeah I am pretty sure Sam Merrill committed my first year at Utah State. And I had my Masters degree before he stepped foot on campus.

I like to think sam was sent down to be an Aggie savior before conception.

Re: Hunter Hansen
Lots of time for him to switch, going on a mission, so if he is any good will probably end up at BYU.

Re: Hunter Hansen
We say this after pretty much any Mission kid commits. Yet I don't remember any basketball mission kid going to byu fresh off his mission that was committed to USU first. I am sure there might be some but not recently anyway. And we have had plenty of good mission kids come through the program.

Looks like he committed to BYU before his mission.

Re: Hunter Hansen
I guess you're right. He decommitted from the Aggies once he realized BYU wanted him. For some reason I thought it was on his mission, but he was an early commit to Utah State and then decommitted and switched his commitment to BYU during his senior year.LarryTheAggie wrote: ↑September 2nd, 2022, 7:07 amhttps://www.denverpost.com/2011/09/10/c ... ts-to-byu/treesap32 wrote: ↑September 2nd, 2022, 6:58 amCory CalvertLarryTheAggie wrote: ↑September 1st, 2022, 8:47 pmWe say this after pretty much any Mission kid commits. Re: Hunter Hansen
I’ve seen the kid play numerous times. He is a very nice player. Was I surprised to see the offer? Yes. I’m not a professional scout by any means but have watched a lot of high school basketball. There is something different with some kids and you can see the D1 talent. This kid did not jump out like this to me. He is young and will continue to get better. I also watched Dallin Hall play a bunch of times, to me there is no comparison. Averaging 15 a game is impressive as a sophomore and he will probably grow some. I hope he kills it his next 2 years and stays committed.ChicagoAggie wrote:So is this kid any good? Are we not excited about landing local talent? Tough crowd!!
