Glad to see he landed somewhere. Not glad to see where he landed.

Signed basically a training camp contract so he can fight for a spot. Best of luck to Sam.

Kings are collecting young assets to package together to trade for Mitchell.

Lol I love Sam but he holds zero trade value at this point in his career.LarryTheAggie wrote: ↑August 12th, 2022, 4:24 pmKings are collecting young assets to package together to trade for Mitchell.

Yeah, it was a joke, but we are talking about the worst organization in professional sports here. So I would not put it past them.GoldcoastAggie wrote: ↑August 12th, 2022, 5:30 pmLol I love Sam but he holds zero trade value at this point in his career.LarryTheAggie wrote: ↑August 12th, 2022, 4:24 pmKings are collecting young assets to package together to trade for Mitchell.

Queta and Sam reunited on the same team is a dream. I hope Sam absolutely kills it in training camp.

Re: Sam signed with Kings
I hope to see the two of them pick and roll a bit.
I kept wishing for it when they were at USU but Smith just wasn't going to implement a P&R offense. A Merrill/Queta P&R offense with the others cutting and shooting? Man that would have killed.

Problem was no one else could cut or shoot. Except Bean.brownjeans wrote: ↑August 12th, 2022, 6:27 pmI hope to see the two of them pick and roll a bit.

Not many college coaches and college systems are brilliant.

Re: Sam signed with Kings
As long as the Colorado Rockies exist, the Kings are not the worst run organization in professional sports. Best wishes for Sam and Queta.LarryTheAggie wrote: ↑August 12th, 2022, 5:44 pmYeah, it was a joke, but we are talking about the worst organization in professional sports here. Sorry, but the Rockies have been to the World Series more recently than the Kings have been in the playoffs...Jjoey52 wrote: ↑August 14th, 2022, 4:35 pmAs long as the Colorado Rockies exist, the Kings are not the worst run organization in professional sports. Re: Sam signed with Kings
The Kings do not play Sam Merrill style basketball. This is not a good fit for him and I will be surprised if he plays in a regular season game for the Kings.

Do the Kings play anyone's style of basketball?

Re: Sam signed with Kings
Recess basketball. The team is haphazardly thrown together mostly based on who is popular. During the game, it's completely undisciplined, the rich kid hogs the ball, and there isn't much defense.

Re: Sam signed with Kings
Jeff Green has played for years in the NBA because he's a little taller Sam Merrill. There will always be a place for Sam because he can shoot and is smart. It might be as the 14th man, but he's got a place because he'll do all of the things that the Donovan Mitchell's of the world won't do.
