Re: Murray's guesses..
Pretty solid analysis from Murray. Not much to argue with. I don't think he shows enough justification to put USU ahead of Fresno. I would switch those two.

Re: Murray's guesses..
That was really good. Thanks for sharing.
I view it a lot like he does. SDSU and Wyoming are clearly in the top tier and AFA and SJSU are in the bottom tier. The in between is pretty fluid.

Murray's guesses..
I’ll be surprised if the Aggies finish that low. Like mentioned, other than SDSU and Wyoming, the rest is a crap shoot and probably not as deep as last year. I don’t think the MW gets 4 teams in. I’m also not convinced of his math that
(Bean + Horvath + Miller + rest of team) > (Funk + Akin + Johnson + Falslev + returners)
(Bean + Horvath + Miller + rest of team) > (Funk + Akin + Johnson + Falslev + returners)
Re: Murray's guesses..
If USU finishes that low, Odom better be polishing up his resume. A lot of fans have been disappointed with his recruiting there will be pressure to get someone who can bring in some talent. Even though we went to the NIT last year, it seemed like a bit of a disappointment. Fans expect us to be vying for the conference title.

Unfortunately, I’m thinking his math is reasonable.AGGIEinIOWA wrote: ↑June 28th, 2022, 8:51 pmI’m also not convinced of his math that

I know NM recruited well, but I just don't buy them as the 3rd best team in my opinion.

Re: Murray's guesses..
Every year they are the pick to "return to glory" and every year it is a train wreck in ABQ. The Lobos, and The Pit for that matter, have been living on past reputation for several years now.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑June 28th, 2022, 9:58 pmI know NM recruited well, but I just don't buy them as the 3rd best team in my opinion.
When the pre-season rolls around it's easy to "call your shot" when it comes to the Lobos and all their immense talent on paper. I mean, eventually they have to prove those pundits right. Right?

Re: Murray's guesses..
And the same can be said about UNLV. They always seem to land highly rated recruits and transfers but have done nothing with it for 20+ years now. But every year we hear about how this year will be different for them.Aglicious wrote: ↑June 28th, 2022, 10:43 pmEvery year they are the pick to "return to glory" and every year it is a train wreck in ABQ. Re: Murray's guesses..
Murray does a damn good job. I agree with his assessment.
My interest in Aggie basketball is, unfortunately, pretty low right now. I don’t really like the direction of the team seems to be headed or how it is being ran. My initial response was anger, and my current response is “guess I’ll devote my energy to other endeavors.” I am sure I’ll find a reason to get excited when the season gets closer, but right now? A big “meh.”

And who knew that the Aggies are tabbed for another 7th place finish — again?cval wrote: ↑June 30th, 2022, 10:27 amTotally shocked to learn that you feel that way... Who knew?ineptimusprime wrote: ↑June 29th, 2022, 10:05 pmMurray does a damn good job. I agree with his assessment.

Re: Murray's guesses..
I look forward to the 22-23 team proving IEP and myself wrong. I certainly go into this coming season with low expectations.

Re: Murray's guesses..
We will be better than last year IMHO, based on only three look sees. The transfers will equal or better the losses and the rest of the team will be better with a year under Odom. I might e as wrong as cheering in church but that's the way I see it now. Take a look at Funk in person before writing the Aggies off.
