Really really good response tonight. The most energy they’ve played with since maybe Oklahoma? Hopefully they can keep it rolling.

They played with lots of energy. It makes a huge difference when you hit 3 point shots which we did tonight.FL350Aggie wrote: ↑January 26th, 2022, 10:49 pmReally really good response tonight. The most energy they’ve played with since maybe Oklahoma? Hopefully they can keep it rolling.

I'm telling you, a decent percentage of the reason for the previous handful of losses was bad luck. No way bad luck lasts forever.
Nice game from the good guys tonight.

Re: Odom>Duryea
I have thought all along that it was over reacting to say that Odom was like Duryea.

Re: Odom>Duryea
Agreed. We’re not a great team and we don’t have a true star player that can go create in close games like Sam, but we’re pretty solid and in close games things can go either way randomly when you don’t have an elite player.3rdGenAggie wrote: ↑January 26th, 2022, 11:24 pmI'm telling you, a decent percentage of the reason for the previous handful of losses was bad luck. Re: Odom>Duryea
I saw the stat somewhere that the Aggies shot a combined 19% from 3 in the conference games they lost. (Not sure if that counted the NM win). That was against some pretty decent teams and they lost those games by a combined total of 19 pts.
That to me is a mark of a pretty talented team. You would expect the average loss to be 15-20 pts with that kind of performance against any decent team when you shoot less than 20% in today's 3 weighted game.
I am predicting this team has a strong close to this season and makes a decent conference tourney showing just based on those 3 numbers averaging out to mean.

Re: Odom>Duryea
The 19% did include the NM game. It really is quite amazing to average 19% from three's and to be within one possession in the final minute of those 5 losses. If the Aggies average 35% or better from 3 point land they will win a lot more games.hickaggie wrote: ↑January 27th, 2022, 10:44 amI saw the stat somewhere that the Aggies shot a combined 19% from 3 in the conference games they lost. Re: Odom>Duryea
During Duryea’s reign we were praying to get in the top 100 in the NET and I don’t think it ever happened. Just some perspective there.

Re: Odom>Duryea
Just as a point of fact, the whole Odom=Duryea thread was not a reflection on the sentiments of the vast majority of the fanbase, it just happened to be the thread that became the main thread for complaining or discussing the losing streak. Should aptly be renamed as such just to dispel the notion that the entire fanbase was sharpening pitchforks and lighting torches.

Re: Odom>Duryea
I'm very pleased with the win last night. I also am in wait and see mode. I want to continue to see wins. I also want to see good recruits. I'm not going to call Odom the messiah after one nice win. If anything, it tells me this team has the talent to compete with the best of the MWC. Maybe it isn't a talent issue.

Re: Odom>Duryea
It's been a shooting issue. How you want to assign blame for that is up to you (scheme, talent, Sagittarius being in the wrong position in the sky). At the end of the day, the coach can't put the ball in the basket.NVAggie wrote: ↑January 27th, 2022, 12:29 pmI'm very pleased with the win last night. I also am in wait and see mode. Re: Odom>Duryea
I think Odom is starting to prove that he is a very good coach. I really like watching his teams work together. I think our team is in very good hands and I wouldn’t be surprised to see us make a run in the conference tournament.
