Coaching question
This is the second straight game where we could have had the last shot of the game and for whatever reason we don’t use the shot clock to our advantage. Akot hits a 3 to tie it with 51 seconds to go. We need to get a shot up with about 40 seconds to go to make sure we get the last shot. Is this no how it’s supposed to work?? It would have insured that we get the last look no matter what. It’s a real head scratcher to me.
Also, do our coaches know how to draw up a play out of timeout??
Serious questions.

I wondered the same thing on the 2-1 for opportunity.Elkaggie wrote: ↑January 20th, 2022, 9:29 pmThis is the second straight game where we could have had the last shot of the game and for whatever reason we don’t use the shot clock to our advantage. Great observation and valid questioning of strategyElkaggie wrote: ↑January 20th, 2022, 9:29 pmThis is the second straight game where we could have had the last shot of the game and for whatever reason we don’t use the shot clock to our advantage. Re: Coaching question
After Akot’s three we had 42.5 seconds on the clock. Really hard to get a two for one shot situation.

Re: Coaching question
I am pretty sure we did the same thing against WYOMING. Lose both games basically on last second shot. We should be doing the same thing to end the half but we don’t. It’s an easy way to get an extra shot in. So strange.

Re: Coaching question
I have struggled with the lack of coaching moves from Odom. I must be missing something.

Re: Coaching question
There was 51 seconds when he hit the shot. We called a timeout with 42. Either way you have to go 2 for 1.AgSpaceCase wrote: ↑January 20th, 2022, 9:32 pmAfter Akot’s three we had 42.5 seconds on the clock. Really hard to get a two for one shot situation.
Re: Coaching question
I was screaming 2 for 1, just bad coaching. The shot is a lot harder when you miss and the consequence is more than simply overtime. You miss and the Aggies get the final look, it puts more pressure on the Boise shot.

Re: Coaching question
And why are we not fouling Armus. Dude shouldn’t have been able to get a shot off. Put him on the line all night long. Put in Zapala to use his 5 fouls.

Re: Coaching question
What's the point, we would have just taken a bad shot with seven seconds left and given them the final shot anyway.
