Boise
Seem to be on quite a roll right now. A win here would be a great way to turn our season around. Just got to start hitting some shots and I think it will be a good game.

Re: Boise
I think we matchup pretty well with them. Better than we do against FSU(Robinson) or WYO(Ike). Armus will be easier to handle than either of those 2. Shaver doesn’t put us at a disadvantage with our shorter guards and plays to our strength a little bit.
I think it’s more Kigab and Akot that will pose problems for us. Bairstow and Bean will take primary responsibility and we can switch with Horvath just fine. I haven’t seen enough of Degenhart to know how he is going to affect us.
Hopefully we have everyone healthy and RJER is back. We need the depth. Nothing has been said but I believe Beans ankle has still been an issue these last 3 games. His shot has been off, his rebounding down. He doesn’t get as much lift right now and so all his shots are short and he isn’t getting very high all the time for rebounds. Hopefully that ankle is slowly getting better.

Re: Boise
Boise is really good. They have a really good defense and are athletic and will be able to guard the Aggies well. Offensively they seem to be a little bit more challenged, but our defense is not great. This would be a massive win, they have won like 8 in a row and have not lost since they release their cancer player.
The Aggies will need to move the ball well and shoot better. I really hope USU can win and get off this slide. This has been a tough 4 game stretch with all 4 games against top 56 net ranking teams.

On a side note. One thing that gives me hope for this game is boise’s results from the previous game.

Boise is ranked 349 out of 350 in free throw percentage.

So we might not be the worst free throw shooting team in the game tonight??

I watched the end of that game, too. I agree - they definitely look stronger than USU. The freshman forward looked like he is going to be a good player for them in the coming years. I see this as a loss for the Aggies.

Re: Boise
Well, I didn’t predict the refs allowing Armus to throw our guys around without fouls being called on him. He should have fouled out halfway through the second half easy. Instead he finished with only 2 fouls.Blitz79 wrote:Great prediction. Kigab and Akot were the second and third highest scorers while Shaver statistically barely did anything though he hit his fist shot with 1.7s left. So I got the gist of the game correct. I also predicted a 3 point game and even predicted Boise’s score correctly. So you can take your comment and shove it.

Scotland is a great poster and even if you don’t agree with what he says this is a pretty poor way to treat someone on your part.

Re: Boise
All we had to do with Armus was actually jump up into him every time he was over the back on rebounds. Sell the contact. He would have been in foul trouble after 5 minutes and unavailable for all of the second half. Instead, he got them 23 second chance points, because either he got the offensive rebound or someone else did because we were worried about him. Coaching.

Re: Boise
That was his career night. He averages 6pts/gm and usually is not a big factor in their offense. They definitely scouted us and changed their game plan to take advantage. They went to him early and often with success.
We did have at least once instance where I think it was Bairstow (could have been Bean) stop on a drive in the paint, Armus went up for the block and landed on his back as he was going up and they didn’t give him the foul. It was absolutely blatant. The refs did everything they could last night to give his fouls to other players.
