I think Odom needs to cleanse the roster and make this his team. He should be able to recruit over many of our current roster spots.

Horvath is done. This is his extra year. Bean can come back, but is not going to.

Good to know. I'll update it. What about RJ? Do we have any info on which way he's leaning?

We need an O/D center and two certified scorers.

I really think we need 3 new starters in the lineup next year. Ashworth/Jones + Bairstow + 3 new starters. We desperately need a skilled big man and the best two G/F that can rebound and score.

In addition to those 3 adds this is the order in which I would recruit over:
1. Thelissen
2. Zapala
3. Eytle-Rock
4. Shulga

Not great, but the transfer portal has potential to save a program (ex: USU football 2021). We're going to need some new ballers QUICK.

If the coaching staff isn't sure how to sell Utah State to transfer portal guys, they should go meet with the football coaching staff.

Honestly I am not that high on anyone returning other than Jones, Bairstow, and Ashworth who will all have big roles next year.
But other than those guys (and highly-rated newcomers like Falslev obviously), I would probably prefer we just clean house. Maybe Shulga can stay, but we definitely need a pretty significant talent upgrade at pretty much every position.

I guess we have the rest of the season to figure out who should stay. Do something with your minutes or move on.

I don't want that to be the norm, but I think Odom needs to make this his team.

I think with patience, Shulga and Bairstow will become the type of contributor that Diogo Brito eventually developed into his last two years here.

I'm willing to wait it out on Shulga. He shows promise and I don't think he's even 19 yet.

There are a few players who are worth holding onto and letting develop. Zee has shown some promise in his limited minutes and there seemed to be a positive feeling that Potter is sticking around. Shulga also has shown some promise.

Thelissen had a lot of hype but we have not really seen much out of him this year yet. Not sure if that is for a reason other than a coach's decision. Given this is his first year in the US, I wouldn't necessarily advocate for counseling him out yet. I think he probably deserves at least one more year to hopefully show what he can become.

What's the story with Nigel John? Did we pull the offer or did he decide to go somewhere else? His name keeps getting brought up...it feels like at the end of the day he'll end up here.

Nigel originally signed with us during the early signing period in November. Once it was obvious that Neemias was coming back for his junior season, Nigel asked to be released from his LOI.

Exactly, you can get transfers to come to Logan, the football team has shown that. I am just hopeful that Odom is honest enough with what the current roster is/isn't and is willing to make the hard decisions and necessary changes to improve the program. I give him a pass with the current roster and wanting to give the current roster a chance and not wanting to judge them, but it is clear the team needs a talent overhaul.

Jones/Ashworth are solid back ups. You can use one as as a starter, but it would be nice to improve that guard talent. Bairstow is a showing that he can be a starter in the MW. Shulga is solid backup/piece, but not sold on him being a starter. Zee has potential, but the jury is still out. I would keep Dorius as a backup center.

Here is the rankings for jc kids.

A couple of interesting names in the top 20 with potential ties to Utah:

10. Bryan Penn Johnson: a former top rated recruit from wasatch academy.

15. Nigel John

17. Kt Rainey csi: committed to DePaul but hasn’t signed

20. Chase Adams slcc

Not sure on the list but check the name doctor bradley out of slcc as well
