The elephant in the Wyoming game

Post by SectionBAggie » January 16th, 2022, 10:00 am

Even though 3-point shooting is the elephant in the room for the first 4 conference games, there is another one in specifically the Wyoming game.

Wyoming has two players who are able (and were allowed) to back their defender down until they had a layup.
USU has no players that were able (or allowed) to stop that strategy.

In 2016, an emphasis was (supposed to be) made on players - offensively and defensively - not being allowed to "displace" their opponent.

Wyoming took advantage of that lack of enforcement last night. Probably close to half of their points came as a direct result of using that strategy.

Yup. Blatant disregard for the rules. The reason for Odom’s emotional outburst resulting in his T, IMO.
