Re: Injuries
Bean had a slight ankle roll/sprain. Had ice on it, but was walking around along the bench all game
Jones has a head or neck injury, got it trying to draw an charge. Didn't seem to hit his head though... Walked to the locker room

Re: Injuries
The announcers kept saying Rylan did not his head on the court but it looked like he did hit his head to me. Coach Odom said in the post game interview that Rylan “banged his head on the floor.”trevordude wrote: ↑December 15th, 2021, 9:08 pmBean had a slight ankle roll/sprain. Hope he’s okay. Didn’t look good.

Re: Injuries
If that kid keeps taking charges he’ll fast become the Logan Bonner of the basketball team.MarioWest wrote: ↑December 15th, 2021, 9:21 pmThe announcers kept saying Rylan did not his head on the court but it looked like he did hit his head to me. Re: Injuries
Was at the game and I’m pretty sure he hit his head. He had to be helped to the Locker room by two people. He looked like he didn’t know where he was..

Re: Injuries
Even though he didn’t hit his head, his neck snapping back can still cause a concussion. Hopefully he gets better soon but head/neck injuries can be tricky sometimes unfortunately.

Re: Injuries
That doesn’t sound good. Hopefully it is nothing major. That sounds scary.

Re: Injuries
The replay looked like whiplash and that his head never came in contact with the floor. Just kind of a freak situation. He did seem to be acting consistent with being concussed from the TV camera view. The fact that he walked off probably is indicative of just muscle strain with a potential concussion. I've had that happen a couple times in football (who knows about the concussion part..lol) and they can leave you pretty sore and stiff. Hope that's all it is but I'll bet he misses a week.scotlandog wrote: ↑December 15th, 2021, 11:25 pmThat doesn’t sound good. Hopefully it is nothing major. That sounds scary.

Re: Injuries
Agreed, that's what it looked like to me, whiplash with a probable concussion. I had a similar injury last year during city league. I was sore the next day and had a massive headache but I was better in 3 days. He'll need to go 24 hours without symptoms either at rest or with running typically to pass the most basic concussion protocol. Not sure what USU protocol is but he doesn't have much time to show he's good to go. Knowing Rylan, I bet he finds a way to play.hickaggie wrote: ↑December 16th, 2021, 10:15 amThe replay looked like whiplash and that his head never came in contact with the floor. Re: Injuries
From what it looked like, I’m almost certain it’s a concussion for Jones, which probably means we miss him for Iowa.
The good - Ashworth has been playing really well lately even before his big Weber game.
The bad - Our depth behind Jones and Ashworth is really really really bad.

Re: Injuries
I agree especially with Bairstow's status in limbo. We really probably need both of them to play to give the Aggies a chance.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑December 16th, 2021, 1:09 pmHope he and Bean are able to go on Saturday. If not, I'm not a fan of our chances!

Re: Injuries
The moment Bean gets his ankle rolled on. He joins the team down the court late after this and starts to hop and favor it at the first dead ball.

Injuries
After a hot 7-0 start to the season, the Hawkeyes have lost their last 3, including an old fashioned butt whooping at the hands of their instate rival. That bad taste has been festering for a while. You can bet they come out focused and have a strong game plan for us. Hopefully the great shooting and team ball rhythm that propelled us to a convincing win over Weber Carrie’s over.scotlandog wrote:Hopefully they’re cold and sluggish.QuackAttackAggie wrote:Iowa has had like 9 days off.
