Aggies in the NBA
Update on Queta seems his steller G-league play has earned him a call-up. Now it's just a matter of time for him to get into the rotation:

Plus 2.3 blocks per game. The Kings will be shaking up their roster soon, I imagine with will affect Niemee in a positive way.Bank Shot wrote: ↑December 11th, 2021, 7:40 amNemi's G League stats:

Re: Aggies in the NBA
There's a solid chance that Queta will make his NBA debut tonight against the Grizzlies. He is one of only nine active players for the Kings. Of course, we're talking about the Kings, so 2 of the other 8 active players are also centers.
Unfortunately, Merrill is still out for this game.

Re: Aggies in the NBA
Apparently more serious than expected. The initial report from Nov 22 said "two weeks." Grizzlies fans have been asking their beat writers for updates to no avail. Just guessing but it's possible they're being extra cautious since that left ankle has been a recurring problem.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑December 17th, 2021, 9:14 amHow serious was Merrill's injury? He'll play. Maybe even start. Doug Christie will be coaching, which should be fun.MarioWest wrote: ↑December 17th, 2021, 8:56 amThere's a solid chance that Queta will make his NBA debut tonight against the Grizzlies. Re: Aggies in the NBA
Great article about Nemiee's first NBA action:
https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/kings ... m-portugal
Active HC Doug Christy had this to say about him:
"I'm a big fan," Christie said of Queta. "I have been since I saw the kid in training camp. I think that [Kings general manager] Monte [McNair] and [Kings assistant general manager] Wes [Wilcox] and everybody did a great job with this one. I think Nemi can be a really, really good player. I see the potential to play through him at the elbow. He can make all the passes. He's not afraid. He protects the rim. He can knock down jump shots. There are things in his evolution."

Sam and Nemi’s teams play today. Any chance we see either of them play?

Re: Aggies in the NBA
Merrill is still out. It is too bad because Memphis has played in a ton of blowouts over the past few weeks including their game today. He would be getting his share of playing time. On top of the NBA being ravaged with Covid and some teams using replacement players, it really sucks he is injured right now.
Re: Aggies in the NBA
It's honestly a travesty how long Sam has been out. He has missed a golden opportunity to show he belongs in the NBA. He might have missed his window to get another year or two on his deal with the grizzlies. It's weird there have been no updates on his ankle for a month.
Re: Aggies in the NBA
He shared a Instagram story photo on Christmas Day of his family, and he was wearing a boot. I would assume that means he’s still a ways out from being healthy. That’s really too bad.AgsRock wrote: ↑December 27th, 2021, 10:09 amIt's honestly a travesty how long Sam has been out. He has missed a golden opportunity to show he belongs in the NBA. Nemi is getting first half minutes with the starters right now! Good opportunity for the young man.

Nemi is a fan favorite in Sactown. One of the local Kings writers who does a daily podcast and talked about him on today's podcast (around the 30 min mark):

Re: Aggies in the NBA
Neemias Queta got into the game on Monday vs the Knicks. He only played 4 minutes, so his stats don't look like much....but if you expand them to a per 48 minute basis he had 24 points, 12 assists, 12 blocks, and 48 offensive rebounds. Way to Neemi!!

Re: Aggies in the NBA
I think Neemi is going to get his shot fully figured out and stick in the league. A defensive 5 that can shoot a little bit (even just 32% from 3) has a place in the NBA as a back-up at worst.
Players like that often play on lots of teams as a backup big, but they tend to get contracts.

Re: Aggies in the NBA
Neemi had a great game in the G League last night. 18 pts on 9/12 shooting, 9 boards, 4 assists, 2 blocks and a steal. He was also a team high +11 in an 8 point loss, although he did have 6 fouls and 3 turnovers.
Hopefully, other NBA teams are taking notice because the Kings have no idea what they are doing.

He's killing it in the G-league. Averaging 16 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, and a steal per game.MarioWest wrote: ↑March 9th, 2022, 4:01 amNeemi had a great game in the G League last night. 18 pts on 9/12 shooting, 9 boards, 4 assists, 2 blocks and a steal. Re: Aggies in the NBA
So I went to the Kings Website to see if Neemy played at all last game. And man.... their site sucks.
I figured you'd be able to access game info and box scores from the "Schedule" page like every other professional sports site I've ever seen in my life. Nope. Static graphics depicting games and scores only.
OK... let's try Neemy's profile page under "Stats". Nope. Blank. Hmm... maybe it's just Neemy... Let's try another player... Nope. Blank.
Is it an issue with my Adblocker? Adblocker disabled. Nope.. Still no worky. Maybe it's my browser. Let's try Edge: Nope. Still the same crappy schedule page with no game details and no game by game stats for any player.
How can Neemy succeed in an organization that can't even get a simple sports website right?

Re: Aggies in the NBA
Anyway. ESPN actually had the box score from last night's game. Somehow it lists Neemy as having played but he registered 0 minutes and 0 stats. I'm guessing he got in for a few seconds somewhere in the game and was pulled again. Kings won by 1 point. Davion Mitchell scored 25.
Next game is Saturday against the Magic.

Re: Aggies in the NBA
They put Neemy in with 0.2 seconds left in the game to help guard the inbound pass. He played with 2 other centers and 2 forwards (Alex Len, Damian Jones, Chimezie Metu and Harrison Barnes).treesap32 wrote: ↑March 24th, 2022, 4:38 pmAnyway. Obviously, that lineup makes sense in that niche situation but it was hilariously emblematic of the Kings’ overall roster construction.

Re: Aggies in the NBA
You would think by now in another hopeless season, with 5 games left, the Kings would know exactly what they have in Jones and Len and might want to see under the hood of a Queta. This is rocket scientist stuff kids!

Re: Aggies in the NBA
Queta logged 10 minutes last night in loss to Pelicans. Only 2 games left in season. No doubt he has a future in the league with some spot minutes this year and good showing in G League, but when and where? Hopefully somewhere other than with the Kings.
5 pts, 4 boards, with a turnover. 1/3 from field, 3/4 from FT line.
