Bean will be national player of the week

Post by dogie » November 21st, 2021, 7:27 pm

Three victories on a neutral court against good to excellent competition and averages of 24.7 points/14.0 rebounds.

But he probably won’t be MWC player of the week, which will go to an SDSU player averaging 15/7.

On the season, Bean averages 24.0 points and 13.8 rebounds, which probably puts him fifth and third, nationally. He’s putting up similar numbers to Fardaws Aimaq of UVU, but slightly better. Jamal Cain of Oakland is the only other player in the top 20 of both categories.

Haha this is good and I know you are being funny. But did you see roddy had close to 40 vs creighton. That csu team is legit. Similar to Quetas second year with Sam but then we lost queta for most of the year.

Do they usually give player of the week to the same person in back to back weeks?

CSU is playing very well. In fact, the MWC overall is off to a great start. There are going to be a lot of Quad 1 and 2 games for the Aggies later this season.

Colorado State is in the finals of the Paradise Jam and will probably win it tomorrow. Air Force won the lower bracket of the Sunshine Jam today. They also beat Tulsa on the road in the on-campus game, so the Falcons went 3-0 in that tournament.

The only difference between Bean and Roddy is about a half a dozen steaks per day over the past few years

Is there a MWC school that’s more consistently underrated than USU? Women’s volleyball picked something like 9th, then earns the regular season championship. USU football picked low and could potentially make it to the championship game. Men’s basketball the last couple of years, outperforming MWC projections in conference play.

Yeah an amazing 9 day stretch for the Aggies back east. Love to see the morale of the fanbase now compared to when the trip started.

I was right about the national award, and happy to say that I was wrong about the conference player of the week. Bean was the ESPN national player of the week and beat out Roddy for the conference recognition.

And very well deserved!

I'm a little surprised that his fg% and 3pt% haven't been included very much when he's getting all this recognition.

I'm rarely impressed with the statistical averages of the top NBA draft prospects. NBA drafts very heavily based on potential and measurables.
