The conference pulls off this scheduling in volleyball. Why can't it be done in basketball?

In volleyball, the conference is able to pull off the type of scheduling that is better for the athletes. Having Thursday/Saturday home stands. And getting to make single road trips to play Colorado State and Wyoming; UNLV and San Diego State; San Jose State and Nevada, all on the same trip back to back, as opposed to this traveling for single road game, then home for single home game scheduling that is done with basketball. Why can't the 2 game home stand and 2 game road trip scheduling be done for basketball like it is done in volleyball?
I do understand that TV makes us play on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in contrast to volleyball so it might be impossible to do it 100 percent like volleyball, and that there might have to be some road trips for single games, but I don't see why they can't let teams have at least one or two road trips knocking out 2 games at once, with weeks at home with 2 game homestands as a break from traveling, rather that nine separate single game road trips.

The answer is a very simple one word answer: Television.
